The study, known as the Digibind Efficacy Evaluation in Preeclampsia (DEEP) study, was supported in part by Protherics PLC, whose DIF product (marketed in the United States as Digifab) is an alternative to the GlaxoSmithKline's (marketed in the United States as Digibind ).

GlaxoSmithKline has a stake in Digibind. which is a member of this family of drugs.

The treating physician ordered 10 vials of the antidote, Digibind. but only three were available in the hospital pharmacy's "night locker.

An example of the latter is Digibind. which consists of Fabfragments of digoxin antibody, administered to neutralize digitalis toxicity.

Digibind. an antidote for digoxin toxicity was administered.

Digoxin toxicity can be rapidly and safely reversed by administration of anti-dioxin immune fragments (Fab) such as DIGIBIND [R], which has been available in the US since 1986.

Patient received 5 vials of digibind in the ER, with digoxin level decreasing to <0.

Benjamin was transferred to the Birmingham hospital to receive the antidote Digibind .

Nonetheless, one can agree that results from the Stratus II and AxSYM may be suitable for monitoring the course of Digibind treatment.

Green, entitled "Serum digoxin in the presence of Digibind. determination of digoxin by the Abbott AxSYM and Baxter Stratus II immunoassays by direct analysis without pretreatment of serum samples" (Clin Chem 1998;44:1947-50), the concentration of Digibind given in parentheses in the sentence at the bottom of the second column on page 1948 is incorrect.

Digibind [R] (Glaxo Wellcome) is the most common brand of anti-digoxin Fab fragments used in the United States and worldwide.

Femina, Femina

Welcome to the Femina Girls blog! Having gotten this far, it seems only fair to introduce ourselves.

Working in an orderly fashion from left to right, we come first to Rachel Jankovic, wife to Luke, mother of six (including twins), with one more on the way. Rachel is the author of Loving the Little Years and Fit to Burst . and she teaches mothering and marriage online seminars for Canon Press .

Next is Heather Wilson. A California transplant, Heather is married to Nate. mother of five lively children, and caretaker of two tortoises, a snake, and two dogs. Heather keeps everyone on track with drum, violin, flute, and piano lessons, not to mention Irish step, volleyball, baseball, football, lacrosse, and basketball games. (Her sport is surfing, but Moscow has no waves.)

Continuing to the right is Nancy Wilson, wife of Douglas. mother of the aforementioned Nate, Rachel. and Bekah, and grandma to almost seventeen. She’s not only written her fair share of books. but she also sits us all down for a Sabbath feast every Saturday night as the kick off to the Lord’s Day.

On the far right is Bekah Merkle, wife of Ben and mother of five. In the not-so-distant past, Bekah had a line of children’s clothing (Amoretti) as well as a line of fabric and sewing patterns. Now she teaches high-school literature classes (and a handful of other subjects) full time at Logos School where her children are enrolled. She also teaches fabric design online seminars for Logos Press .

Now that I am a Nana of seventeen wonderful grandkids, I have the leisure to look back at the “glory days” from a different perspective than I had when I was home in the trenches. If I could speak to that self of mine home with the littles, here are a few things I would say.

1. Repetition is a glorious thing! Enjoy the repeat performance every day.

2. Steward the events (the planned and especially the unplanned) of each day with contentment.

3. Pray more! Worry less. Much less.

4. Express thanks and praise every chance.

5. At the end of the day, never say, “I didn’t get anything done.”

And just to be fair, here are a few things I look back on with gratitude. Gratitude that God inspired us to do these things. They were far more potent than we realized at the time.

1. After-dinner reading that sometimes stretched on for hours.

2. Hot towels from the dryer after baths.

3. Jammy rides for ice cream and a visit to grandparents.

4. Open tap on the milk in the fridge.

5. Bedtime songs and stories.

Wisdom is intensely practical once you find it, and finding it is what we are to be doing. We are to “seek her as for silver, and search for her as for hidden treasures” (Proverbs 2:4).

But, ah, where do we find wisdom? This is Job’s question: “But where shall wisdom be found? And where is the place of understanding?” (Job 28:12). If we are supposed to seek and search, where do we start digging?

Before the question is answered, Job points out two things: You can’t find wisdom anywhere on earth; and even if you could, there is not enough wealth on earth to buy it. Think of trying to put a price tag on the Pacific Ocean. And if the value could be ascertained, no one could afford it. That is like wisdom.

Job asks the question again in verse 20: “From where then does wisdom come? And where is the place of understanding?”

Answer: It is hidden from both the living and the dead (verses 21-22).

However, “God understands its way, and He knows its place” (vs. 23).

And then God provides us with the full answer: “And to man He said, ‘Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom, and to depart from evil is understanding'” (vs. 28).

So we have a two-fold answer to the question. We find wisdom by (1) fearing God, and we find understanding by (2) departing from evil.

We see this pairing of wisdom and understanding together elsewhere in Scripture, and we find the pairing of fearing God and departing from evil together as well.

“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom; a good understanding have all those who do His commandments” (Psalm 111:10).

The more distance we put between ourselves and sin, the more we grow in wisdom. The more we obey God, the wiser we become. “There is no wisdom or understanding or counsel against the Lord” (Prov. 21:30). If you are getting advice or ideas that are contrary to the Lord and His Word, whatever it is, it is not wisdom. There is absolutely no wisdom that is against the Lord. Period.

“For the Lord gives wisdom; from His mouth come knowledge and understanding; He stores up sound wisdom for the upright; He is a shield to those who walk uprightly” (Prov. 2:6-7).

Wisdom is for the upright. God has plenty stored up for those who want to do what He says. But for those who disobey God, those who interpret His commands loosely or disregard them all together, they are shut out from wisdom. They are wise in their own eyes, and that is the extent of their wisdom.

“Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord and depart from evil” (Prov. 3:7). There it is again. Fear God. Obey His commands. Rather, be wise in God’s estimation, not your own. Fear God and do what He says.

proposal

1. recommendation. 2. suggestion, design. Proposal, overture, proposition refer to something in the nature of an offer. A proposal is a plan, a scheme, an offer to be accepted or rejected: to make proposals for peace. An overture is a friendly approach, an opening move (perhaps involving a proposal) tentatively looking toward the settlement of a controversy or else preparing the way for a proposal or the like: to make overtures to an enemy. Proposition, used in mathematics to refer to a formal statement of truth, and often including the proof or demonstration of the statement, has something of this same meaning when used nontechnically (particularly in business). A proposition is a proposal in which the terms are clearly stated and their advantageous nature emphasized: His proposition involved a large discount to the retailer.

American Job Centers are at the heart of the workforce investment system under the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA). These centers provide an integrated array of high-quality services so that workers, job seekers, and businesses can conveniently find the help they need under one roof in easy to reach locations. American Job Centers are designed to help businesses find qualified workers and help job seekers obtain employment and training services to enhance their careers. These services include assessment of skills, abilities, aptitudes and needs; assistance with Unemployment Insurance; access to employment services such as the states' job board and labor market information; career counseling; job search and job placement assistance; and information on training, education and related supportive services such as day care and transportation. Eligible individuals can obtain more intensive services and training. American Job Centers are convenient to most communities in the United States.

Ketanrift Indication, Action Of Ketanrift, Interactions, Ketanrift

Ketanrift [in more detail]

For the treatment of hyperuricemia associated with primary or secondary gout.

Ketanrift Mechanism Of Action:

Ketanrift inhibits the enzyme xanthine oxidase, blocking the conversion of the oxypurines hypoxanthine and xanthine to uric acid. Elevated concentrations of oxypurine and oxypurine inhibition of xanthine oxidase through negative feedback results in a decrease in the concentrations of uric acid in the blood and urine. Ketanrift also facilitates the incorporation of hypoxanthine and xanthine into DNA and RNA, resulting in further reductions of serum uric acid concentrations.

Ketanrift Drug Interactions:

Anisindione Ketanrift increases the anticoagulant effect Azathioprine Ketanrift increases the effect of thiopurine Cyclosporine Ketanrift increases the effect and toxicity of cyclosporine Dicumarol Ketanrift increases the anticoagulant effect Warfarin Ketanrift increases the anticoagulant effect Mercaptopurine Ketanrift increases the effect of thiopurine Acenocoumarol Increases the anticoagulant effect

Food Interactions:

Take with a full glass of water. Take with food. Avoid alcohol.

Ketanrift Chemical Formula:

Robamox Generic Name Amoxicillin Online, Robamox

Robamox General Information

Robamox - Pharmacology:

Robamox binds to penicillin-binding protein 1A (PBP-1A) located inside the bacterial cell well. Penicillins acylate the penicillin-sensitive transpeptidase C-terminal domain by opening the lactam ring. This inactivation of the enzyme prevents the formation of a cross-link of two linear peptidoglycan strands, inhibiting the third and last stage of bacterial cell wall synthesis. Cell lysis is then mediated by bacterial cell wall autolytic enzymes such as autolysins; it is possible that amoxicllin interferes with an autolysin inhibitor.

Robamox for patients

Robamox is an antibiotic for treatment of infection. Take at regular intervals, around the clock. Always finish course of therapy. Take with or without meals. May cause serious allergic reactions in those with penicillin allergy. May cause nausea, vomiting and diarrhea; notify your doctor or pharmacist if these occur.

This description is suitable for active ingredient Amoxicillin

Robamox Interactions

Probenecid decreases the renal tubular secretion of amoxicillin. Concurrent use of amoxicillin and probenecid may result in increased and prolonged blood levels of amoxicillin.

Chloramphenicol, macrolides, sulfonamides, and tetracy-clines may interfere with the bactericidal effects of penicillin. This has been demonstrated in vitro; however, the clinical significance of this interaction is not well documented.

Drug/Laboratory Test Interactions: High urine concentrations of ampicillin may result in false-positive reactions when testing for the presence of glucose in urine using CLINITEST ®. Benedictis Solution, or Fehlingis Solution. Since this effect may also occur with amoxicillin, it is recommended that glucose tests based on enzymatic glucose oxi-dase reactions (such as CLINISTIX ® ) be used.

Following administration of ampicillin to pregnant women, a transient decrease in plasma concentration of total conjugated estriol, estriol-glucuronide, conjugated estrone, and estradiol has been noted. This effect may also occur with amoxicillin.

Carcinogenesis, Mutagenesis, Impairment of Fertility:

Long-term studies in animals have not been performed to evaluate carcinogenic potential. Studies to detect mutagenic potential of amoxicillin alone have not been conducted; however, the following information is available from tests on a 4:1 mixture of amoxicillin and potassium clavulanate (AUGMENTIN). AUGMENTIN was non-mutagenic in the Ames bacterial mutation assay, and the yeast gene conversion assay. AUGMENTIN was weakly positive in the mouse lymphoma assay, but the trend toward increased mutation frequencies in this assay occurred at doses that were also associated with decreased cell survival. AUGMENTIN was negative in the mouse micronucleus test, and in the dominant lethal assay in mice. Potassium clavulanate alone was tested in the Ames bacterial mutation assay and in the mouse micronucleus test, and was negative in each of these assays. In a multi-generation reproduction study in rats, no impairment of fertility or other adverse reproductive effects were seen at doses up to 500 mg/kg (approximately 3 times the human dose in mg/m 2 ).

Pregnancy: Teratogenic Effects: Pregnancy Category B. Reproduction studies have been performed in mice and rats at doses up to 10 times the human dose and have revealed no evidence of impaired fertility or harm to the fetus due to amoxicillin. There are, however, no adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women. Because animal reproduction studies are not always predictive of human response, this drug should be used during pregnancy only if clearly needed.

Labor and Delivery: Oral ampicillin-class antibiotics are poorly absorbed during labor. Studies in guinea pigs showed that intravenous administration of ampicillin slightly decreased the uterine tone and frequency of contractions but moderately increased the height and duration of contractions. However, it is not known whether use of amoxicillin in humans during labor or delivery has immediate or delayed adverse effects on the fetus, prolongs the duration of labor, or increases the likelihood that forceps delivery or other obstetrical intervention or resuscitation of the newborn will be necessary.

Nursing Mothers: Penicillins have been shown to be excreted in human milk. Robamox use by nursing mothers may lead to sensitization of infants. Caution should be exercised when amoxicillin is administered to a nursing woman.

Pediatric Use: Because of incompletely developed renal function in neonates and young infants, the elimination of amoxicillin may be delayed. Dosing of AMOXIL should be modified in pediatric patients 12 weeks or younger (?3 months). ( See DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATIONnNeonates and infants.)

CEFCU

CEFCU is a great bank. Seriously, it's great. We've gotten a couple of major loans here, and the process was fairly easy, and the rates good. We earn a little bit of interest on our savings. The online banking system and bill pay are great. Everyone here is really friendly!

Sounds like five stars, right?

And it would be.

Except going to a teller is literally slower than any other bank I have ever been to in my life. No matter how many windows are open, I expect to wait at least a full minute for every person in front of me. Every time. It doesn't matter who I go to, what time of day. Last time I went, I was the 8th person in line, and I waited for over ten minutes to deposit a check. By the time I got called to a teller, there were 15 people in line behind me. I hope that they found someone to open another window after I left, but they certainly didn't while I was there. And that's really how it is every time. Even if I don't have to wait in line, the simple act of depositing a check is slower than at other banks.

But really, CEFCU is awesome. If you never have to go to a teller, your experience will probably be 100% awesome. But I find the slowness so irritating it literally takes the rating down from 5 stars to 3 for me.

Specialties

CEFCU is a full-service credit union offering savings, checking, ATM and online account access, low-cost loans, mortgages, and more.

History

Established in 1937.

Citizens Equity First Credit Union (CEFCU) was founded in 1937 to serve employees of Caterpillar. During the Great Depression, affordable loans were scarce, so a group of Caterpillar employees pooled their money together in a cigar box one day in the lunchroom. One member's savings were loaned to another member, at an affordable rate. That tradition of savers helping borrowers (and vice-versa) continues to this day.

Today, CEFCU has nearly $5 billion in assets and serves the employees of more than 500 partner companies as one of America's largest community-based credit unions, serving more than 290,000 members in 50 states and several foreign countries.

More than 75 years have passed since that cigar box. CEFCU offers a full range of financial products and services to help members thrive financially. That lunchroom table has been replaced with Member Centers and the Money Center 24® ATM Network. Through it all, CEFCU has remained a place where members just have it better.

Fludarabine - Side Effects, Dosage, Interactions, Fludara

Fludarabine

Fludarabine is a cancer medication that interferes with the growth and spread of cancer cells in the body.

Fludarabine is used to treat B-cell chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL).

Fludarabine is usually given after other cancer medications have been tried without successful response to treatment.

Fludarabine may also be used for purposes not listed in this medication guide.

You should not receive fludarabine if you are also being treated with a cancer medicine called pentostatin (Nipent).

Fludarabine can lower blood cells that help your body fight infections and help your blood to clot. You may get an infection or bleed more easily. Call your doctor if you have unusual bruising or bleeding, or signs of infection (fever, chills, body aches).

You should not use this medication if you are allergic to fludarabine, or if you are also being treated with a cancer medicine called pentostatin (Nipent).

To make sure you can safely take fludarabine, tell your doctor if you have any of these other conditions:

kidney disease;

bone marrow problems or a weak immune system;

any active infection;

a history of skin cancer; or

a history of a viral infection such as herpes zoster (shingles), Epstein-Barr, or a virus affecting the central nervous system.

Do not use fludarabine if you are pregnant. It could harm the unborn baby.

Use birth control to prevent pregnancy while you are receiving fludarabine, whether you are a man or a woman. Keep using birth control for at least 6 months after your treatment ends. Fludarabine use by either parent may cause birth defects.

It is not known whether fludarabine passes into breast milk or if it could harm a nursing baby. You should not breast-feed while you are receiving fludarabine.

Metformin Oral Uses, Side Effects, Interactions, Pictures, Warnings - Dosing, Miformin

metformin

GENERIC NAME(S): METFORMIN HCL

Warnings

Metformin can rarely cause a serious (sometimes fatal) condition called lactic acidosis. Stop taking metformin and get medical help right away if you develop any of the following symptoms of lactic acidosis: unusual tiredness, dizziness. severe drowsiness, chills, blue/cold skin. muscle pain. fast/difficult breathing, slow/irregular heartbeat. stomach pain with nausea. vomiting. or diarrhea .

Lactic acidosis is more likely to occur in patients who have certain medical conditions, including kidney or liver disease, recent surgery, a serious infection, conditions that may cause a low level of oxygen in the blood or poor circulation (such as congestive heart failure. recent heart attack. recent stroke ), heavy alcohol use, a severe loss of body fluids (dehydration ), or X-ray or scanning procedures that require an injectable iodinated contrast drug. Tell your doctor right away if any of these conditions occur or if you notice a big change in your overall health. You may need to stop taking this medication temporarily. The elderly are also at higher risk, especially those older than 80 years who have not had kidney tests. (See also Side Effects and Precautions sections.)

Uses

Metformin is used with a proper diet and exercise program and possibly with other medications to control high blood sugar. It is used in patients with type 2 diabetes. Controlling high blood sugar helps prevent kidney damage, blindness, nerve problems, loss of limbs, and sexual function problems. Proper control of diabetes may also lessen your risk of a heart attack or stroke. Metformin works by helping to restore your body's proper response to the insulin you naturally produce. It also decreases the amount of sugar that your liver makes and that your stomach /intestines absorb.

OTHER USES: This section contains uses of this drug that are not listed in the approved professional labeling for the drug but that may be prescribed by your health care professional. Use this drug for a condition that is listed in this section only if it has been so prescribed by your health care professional.

Metformin may be used with lifestyle changes such as diet and exercise to prevent diabetes in people who are at high risk for becoming diabetic. It is also used in women with a certain disease of the ovaries (polycystic ovarian syndrome ). Metformin may make menstrual cycles more regular and increase fertility .

How to use metformin

Read the Patient Information Leaflet if available from your pharmacist before you start taking metformin and each time you get a refill. If you have any questions, consult your doctor or pharmacist.

Take this medication by mouth as directed by your doctor, usually 1-3 times a day with meals. Drink plenty of fluids while taking this medication unless otherwise directed by your doctor.

The dosage is based on your medical condition, response to treatment, and other medications you may be taking. Be sure to tell your doctor and pharmacist about all the products you use (including prescription drugs, nonprescription drugs, and herbal products). To reduce your risk of side effects (such as upset stomach), your doctor may direct you to start this medication at a low dose and gradually increase your dose. Follow your doctor's instructions carefully.

Take this medication regularly in order to get the most benefit from it. Remember to use it at the same times each day.

If you are already taking another anti-diabetic drug (such as chlorpropamide ), follow your doctor's directions carefully for stopping/continuing the old drug and starting metformin.

Check your blood sugar regularly as directed by your doctor. Keep track of the results, and share them with your doctor. Tell your doctor if your blood sugar measurements are too high or too low. Your dosage/treatment may need to be changed.

Side Effects

Nausea, vomiting, stomach upset, diarrhea, weakness. or a metallic taste in the mouth may occur. If any of these effects persist or worsen, tell your doctor or pharmacist promptly. If stomach symptoms return later (after taking the same dose for several days or weeks), tell your doctor right away. Stomach symptoms that occur after the first days of your treatment may be signs of lactic acidosis.

Remember that your doctor has prescribed this medication because he or she has judged that the benefit to you is greater than the risk of side effects. Many people using this medication do not have serious side effects.

Metformin does not usually cause low blood sugar (hypoglycemia). Low blood sugar may occur if this drug is prescribed with other anti-diabetic medications. Talk with your doctor or pharmacist about whether the dose of your other diabetic medication(s) needs to be lowered.

Symptoms of low blood sugar include sudden sweating. shaking, fast heartbeat, hunger. blurred vision. dizziness, or tingling hands/feet. It is a good habit to carry glucose tablets or gel to treat low blood sugar. If you don't have these reliable forms of glucose, rapidly raise your blood sugar by eating a quick source of sugar such as table sugar, honey, or candy, or drink fruit juice or non-diet soda. Tell your doctor about the reaction right away. Low blood sugar is more likely if you drink large amounts of alcohol, do unusually heavy exercise. or do not consume enough calories from food. To help prevent low blood sugar, eat meals on a regular schedule, and do not skip meals. Check with your doctor or pharmacist to find out what you should do if you miss a meal.

Symptoms of high blood sugar (hyperglycemia) include thirst, increased urination, confusion, drowsiness, flushing, rapid breathing, and fruity breath odor. If these symptoms occur, tell your doctor right away. Your doctor may need to adjust your diabetes medication(s).

Stop taking this medication and tell your doctor right away if this very serious side effect occurs: lactic acidosis (see Warning section).

A very serious allergic reaction to this drug is rare. However, get medical help right away if you notice any of the following symptoms of a serious allergic reaction: rash, itching/swelling (especially of the face/tongue/throat), severe dizziness, trouble breathing.

This is not a complete list of possible side effects. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

Call your doctor for medical advice about side effects. You may report side effects to FDA at 1-800-FDA-1088 or at www. fda. gov/medwatch.

In Canada - Call your doctor for medical advice about side effects. You may report side effects to Health Canada at 1-866-234-2345.

Precautions

See also Warning section.

Before taking this medication, tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are allergic to metformin; or if you have any other allergies. This product may contain inactive ingredients, which can cause allergic reactions or other problems. Talk to your pharmacist for more details.

Before using this medication, tell your doctor or pharmacist your medical history, especially of: severe breathing problems (such as obstructive lung disease, severe asthma), blood problems (such as anemia, vitamin B12 deficiency), kidney disease, liver disease.

Before having surgery or any X-ray/scanning procedure using injectable iodinated contrast material, tell your doctor that you are taking this medication. You will need to temporarily stop this medication before the time of your surgery/procedure. Consult your doctor for further instructions.

Before having surgery, tell your doctor or dentist about all the products you use (including prescription drugs, nonprescription drugs, and herbal products).

You may experience blurred vision, dizziness, or drowsiness due to extremely low or high blood sugar levels. Do not drive, use machinery, or do any activity that requires alertness or clear vision until you are sure you can perform such activities safely.

Limit alcohol while using this medication because it can increase your risk of lactic acidosis and developing low blood sugar.

High fever, "water pills" (diuretics such as hydrochlorothiazide), too much sweating, diarrhea, or vomiting may cause loss of too much body water (dehydration) and increase your risk of lactic acidosis. Stop taking this medication and tell your doctor right away if you have prolonged diarrhea or vomiting. Be sure to drink enough fluids to prevent dehydration unless your doctor directs you otherwise.

It may be harder to control your blood sugar when your body is stressed (such as due to fever, infection, injury, or surgery). Consult your doctor because increased stress may require a change in your treatment plan, medications, or blood sugar testing.

Older adults may be at greater risk for side effects such as low blood sugar or lactic acidosis.

During pregnancy, this medication should be used only when clearly needed. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor. Your doctor may direct you to use insulin instead of this product during your pregnancy. Follow your doctor's instructions carefully.

Metformin can cause changes in the menstrual cycle (promote ovulation) and increase the risk of becoming pregnant. Consult your doctor or pharmacist about the use of reliable birth control while using this medication.

Metformin passes into breast milk in small amounts. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.

Interactions

Drug interactions may change how your medications work or increase your risk for serious side effects. This document does not contain all possible drug interactions. Keep a list of all the products you use (including prescription/nonprescription drugs and herbal products) and share it with your doctor and pharmacist. Do not start, stop, or change the dosage of any medicines without your doctor's approval.

Beta-blocker medications (such as metoprolol, propranolol, glaucoma eye drops such as timolol) may prevent the fast/pounding heartbeat you would usually feel when your blood sugar level falls too low (hypoglycemia). Other symptoms of low blood sugar, such as dizziness, hunger, or sweating, are unaffected by these drugs.

Many drugs can affect your blood sugar levels, making it more difficult to control your blood sugar. Before you start, stop, or change any medication, talk with your doctor or pharmacist about how the medication may affect your blood sugar. Check your blood sugar levels regularly as directed by your doctor. Tell your doctor about the results and of any symptoms of high or low blood sugar. (See also Side Effects section.) Your doctor may need to adjust your anti-diabetic medication, exercise program, or diet.

Overdose

If overdose is suspected, contact a poison control center or emergency room right away. US residents can call their local poison control center at 1-800-222-1222. Canada residents can call a provincial poison control center. Overdose can cause lactic acidosis. Symptoms of overdose may include: severe drowsiness, severe nausea/vomiting/diarrhea, rapid breathing, slow/irregular heartbeat.

Notes

Do not share this medication with others.

You should attend a diabetes education program to learn more about diabetes and all the important aspects of its treatment, including meals/diet, exercise, personal hygiene, medications, and getting regular eye/foot/medical exams.

Keep all medical appointments. Laboratory and/or medical tests (such as liver/kidney function tests, blood glucose, hemoglobin A1c, complete blood counts) should be performed periodically to check for side effects and monitor your response to treatment. Check your blood sugar levels regularly as directed.

Missed Dose

If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember with food. If it is near the time of the next dose, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. Do not double the dose to catch up.

Storage

Store at room temperature away from light and moisture. Do not store in the bathroom. Keep all medications away from children and pets.

Do not flush medications down the toilet or pour them into a drain unless instructed to do so. Properly discard this product when it is expired or no longer needed. Consult your pharmacist or local waste disposal company for more details about how to safely discard your product.

Take Cipro exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Do not take in larger or smaller amounts or for longer than recommended. Follow the directions on your prescription label.

Take Cipro with a full glass of water (8 ounces). Drink several extra glasses of fluid each day while you are taking this medicine. Cipro may be taken with or without food, but take it at the same time each day. Shake the oral suspension (liquid) for at least 15 seconds just before you measure a dose. To be sure you get the correct dose, measure the liquid with a marked measuring spoon or medicine cup, not with a regular table spoon. If you do not have a dose-measuring device, ask your pharmacist for one.

When taking the Cipro oral liquid, swallow it without chewing the medicine beads you may notice in the liquid.

Do not crush, chew, or break an extended-release tablet. Swallow it whole. Breaking the pill may cause too much of the drug to be released at one time. Do not take Cipro with dairy products such as milk or yogurt, or with calcium-fortified juice. You may eat or drink these products as part of a regular meal, but do not use them alone when taking Cipro. They could make the medication less effective.

Take Cipro for the full prescribed length of time. Your symptoms may improve before the infection is completely cleared. Skipping doses may also increase your risk of further infection that is resistant to antibiotics. Cipro will not treat a viral infection such as the common cold or flu.

Store Cipro at room temperature away from moisture and heat. Do not allow the liquid medicine to freeze.

If you missed a dose - take the missed dose as soon as you remember. Skip the missed dose if it is almost time for your next scheduled dose. Do not take extra medicine to make up the missed dose.

Take exactly as prescribed by your Health Provider.

Store this medicine at room temperature away from moisture and heat. Do not allow the liquid medicine to freeze.

You should not use Ciplox if you are taking tizanidine (Zanaflex), if you have a history of myasthenia gravis, or if you are allergic to ciprofloxacin or similar antibiotics such as gemifloxacin (Factive), levofloxacin (Levaquin), moxifloxacin (Avelox), norfloxacin (Noroxin), and others.

Imitrex - Pain Relief, Sumigra

Imitrex is indicated for the acute treatment of migraine attacks with or without aura in adults. Imitrex is a headache medicine that narrows blood vessels around the brain. Imitrex also reduces substances in the body that can trigger headache pain, nausea, sensitivity to light and sound, and other migraine symptoms.

Use Imitrex exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Do not use in larger or smaller amounts or for longer than recommended. Follow the directions on your prescription label. Overuse of migraine headache medicine can actually make your headaches worse.

Use Imitrex as soon as you notice headache symptoms, or after an attack has already begun.

Your doctor may want to give your first dose of this medicine in a hospital or clinic setting to see if you have any serious side effects.

Take one Imitrex tablet whole with a full glass of water. Do not split the tablet.

After taking a tablet: If your headache does not completely go away, or goes away and comes back, take a second tablet two (2) hours after the first. Do not take more than 200 mg of sumatriptan oral tablets in 24 hours. If your symptoms have not improved, contact your doctor before taking any more tablets.

Since Imitrex is used as needed, it does not have a daily dosing schedule. Call your doctor promptly if your symptoms do not improve after using this medicine.

After taking a Imitrex tablet, you must wait two (2) hours before taking a second tablet. Do not take more than 200 mg of sumatriptan tablets in 24 hours.

After using Imitrex nasal spray, you must wait two (2) hours before using a second spray. Do not use more than 40 mg of nasal spray in 24 hours.

Contact your doctor if you have more than four headaches in one month (30 days).

In controlled clinical trials, single doses of 25, 50, or 100 mg of IMITREX Tablets were effective for the acute treatment of migraine in adults. There is evidence that doses of 50 and 100 mg may provide a greater effect than 25 mg.

The choice of dose should therefore be made on an individual basis, weighing the possible benefit of a higher dose with the potential for a greater risk of adverse events.

If the headache returns or the patient has a partial response to the initial dose, the dose may be repeated after 2 hours, not to exceed a total daily dose of 200 mg.

Store Imitrex at room temperature away from moisture, heat, and light.

Do not use Imitrex within 24 hours before or after using another migraine headache medicine, including:

sumatriptan injection, almotriptan (Axert), eletriptan (Relpax), frovatriptan (Frova), naratriptan (Amerge), rizatriptan (Maxalt, Maxalt-MLT), or zolmitriptan (Zomig); or

ergot medicine such as dihydroergotamine (D. H.E. 45, Migranal), ergotamine (Ergomar, Cafergot, Migergot), dihydroergotamine (D. H.E. 45, Migranal), or methylergonovine (Methergine).

Imitrex may impair your thinking or reactions. Be careful if you drive or do anything that requires you to be alert.

You should not use Imitrex if you are allergic to sumatriptan, or if you have:

coronary heart disease, angina (chest pain), blood circulation problems, lack of blood supply to the heart;

a history of heart disease, heart attack, or stroke, including "mini-stroke";

severe or uncontrolled high blood pressure;

severe liver disease;

ischemic bowel disease; or

a headache that seems different from your usual migraine headaches.

Do not use Imitrex if you have used an MAO inhibitor such as furazolidone (Furoxone), isocarboxazid (Marplan), phenelzine (Nardil), rasagiline (Azilect), selegiline (Eldepryl, Emsam, Zelapar), or tranylcypromine (Parnate) in the last 14 days.

To make sure you can safely use Imitrex, tell your doctor if you have any of these other conditions:

liver disease;

kidney disease;

epilepsy or other seizure disorder;

high blood pressure, a heart rhythm disorder; or

coronary heart disease (or risk factors such as diabetes, menopause, smoking, being overweight, having high cholesterol, having a family history of coronary artery disease, being older than 40 and a man, or being a woman who has had a hysterectomy).

FDA pregnancy category C. It is not known whether Imitrex will harm an unborn baby. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant while using this medication. Sumatriptan can pass into breast milk and may harm a nursing baby. Do not breast-feed within 12 hours after using Imitrex. If you use a breast pump during this time, throw out any milk you collect. Do not feed it to your baby. Imitrex should not be given to anyone under 18 or over 65 years of age.

Get emergency medical help if you have any of these signs of an allergic reaction to Imitrex: hives; difficulty breathing; swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat. Stop using Imitrex and call your doctor if you have a serious side effect such as:

feeling of pain or tightness in your jaw, neck, or throat;

chest pain or heavy feeling, pain spreading to the arm or shoulder, nausea, sweating, general ill feeling;

sudden numbness or weakness, especially on one side of the body;

sudden severe headache, confusion, problems with vision, speech, or balance;

sudden and severe stomach pain and bloody diarrhea;

seizure (convulsions);

numbness or tingling and a pale or blue-colored appearance in your fingers or toes; or

(if you are also taking an antidepressant) - agitation, hallucinations, fever, fast heart rate, overactive reflexes, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, loss of coordination, fainting.

Less serious Imitrex side effects may include:

mild headache (not a migraine);

pressure or heavy feeling in any part of your body;

feeling hot or cold;

dizziness, spinning sensation;

drowsiness;

nausea, vomiting, drooling;

unusual taste in your mouth after using the nasal spray;

burning, numbness, pain or other irritation in your nose or throat after using the nasal spray; or

warmth, redness, or mild tingling under your skin.

Questions and Answers (3)

WOULD I USE FORMULEX AS SOON AS I PUT THE CUTS IN OR WHEN ROOTS APPEAR

You would use Formulex from the start, it can be used as a root feed & a foliar feed.

Can Formulex be used on clones? Can Formulex be used as a folia feed? Can Formulex be used in a aeroponics propagator? If so at what stage should Formulex be used in the aeroponic propagator?

Formulex can be used on clones & seedlings. If you use it as a foliar feed, it should be diluted at 5ml per litre, in an aeroponic propagator, it should be used at 10ml per litre. It's best used for the first two weeks, then switch to a grow nutrient. I would also use Rhizotonic for the first two weeks.

could formulex be used as a growth nutrient right through till bloom or just for seedlings

I would just use Formulex at the propagation stage, then switch to a grow nutrient for the vegetative phase, & a bloom nutrient for the flowering phase.

Progesteron Og Gestagener, Gestagen

Tabel 1. Gestagenernes inddeling

Gestagener inddeles i:

Shortly after winning the IMEX competition, Loopd released its new website at www.

We know IMEX America brings the incentive and meeting industry's key players together in a way that is truly one-of-a-kind.

This transaction will further expand our global reach and we look forward to partnering closely with IMEX and physician specialists across Spain and Portugal to enhance patient experiences and outcomes.

Our collaboration with the sultanate's Ministry of Tourism at IMEX over the last four years, and this most recent one in particular, has showcased Oman as a formidable international events destination and intellectual knowledge hub, with the OCEC as its driving force and catalyst," Trevor said.

The look of Dubai's new brand has been very well received here at IMEX and our successful hosting of the 14,500-delegate incentive group from China has shown the world what we in the emirate have long known -- that Dubai has the expertise, infrastructure, dynamic leisure attractions and key partnerships to host events and groups of any size and scale, from anywhere in the world," said Steen Jakobsen, Director of DTCM division Dubai Convention and Events Bureau (DCEB).

By contrast IMEX sold only 345 Chevrolet models between January and April 2013, a 20-percent drop year-over-year.

ADNEC's Group Chief Executive Officer, Pieter Idenburg, said: "Participation at IMEX allows us to build on a growing reputation for excellence in the business tourism sector, by engaging in dialogue and interfacing with competitors and organisers alike.

This transaction paves the way for IMEX to offer the most comprehensive international mailing services in the industry," said Jim Levitas, Partner of Lion Equity.

The class of IMEX methods that we will be using belongs to the family of IMEX - PC schemes.

Abu Dhabi's interest in reaching the US MICE market through IMEX is three-fold.

The QTA led a high level delegation of Qatar hotels and tour operators to IMEX 2012 - the world's leading gathering of experts in incentive travel, exhibitions and events, meeting with some of Europe's top travel agents and buyers in the MICE industry.

Quantum plans to continue the IMEX business at the Maastricht site.

Ran Lich - Anti-Ulcer Agents, Histamine H2 Antagonists, Atc A02ba02, Atc A02ba07, Ran Lich

Ran Lich

Capsule; Liquid; Solution; Tablet; Syrup

Ran Lich Indication

Used in the treatment of peptic ulcer disease (PUD), dyspepsia, stress ulcer prophylaxis, and gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD).

Ran Lich Pharmacology

Ranitidine is a histamine H2-receptor antagonist similar to cimetidine and famotidine. An H2-receptor antagonist, often shortened to H2 antagonist, is a drug used to block the action of histamine on parietal cells in the stomach, decreasing acid production by these cells. These drugs are used in the treatment of dyspepsia, however their use has waned since the advent of the more effective proton pump inhibitors. Like the H1-antihistamines, the H2 antagonists are inverse agonists rather than true receptor antagonists.

Ran Lich Absorption

Approximately 50% bioavailability orally.

Ran Lich side effects and Toxicity

LD 50 =77mg/kg (orally in mice). Symptoms of overdose include muscular tremors, vomiting, and rapid respiration.

Ran Lich Patient Information

Phenylketonurics: ZANTAC 25 EFFERdose Tablets contain phenylalanine 2.81 mg per 25 mg of ranitidine. ZANTAC 150 EFFERdose Tablets contain phenylalanine 16.84 mg per 150 mg of ranitidine. ZANTAC EFFERdose Tablets should not be chewed, swallowed whole, or dissolved on the tongue.

Sleeping pills aren’t the answer to sleep on demand. Drake Guan

Insomnia is far from a modern concept, with sleep remedies such as opioids, chamomile and valerian root recorded in the earliest existing medical writings. The word insomnia itself dates back to at least the 1620s .

But since the latter part of the twentieth century our sleep woes have worsened. Increasing economic prosperity and consumerism have increased work hours and led to more unpredictable shift work. And the widespread use of electric lights and caffeine keep us awake longer and longer.

Most doctors promote non-drug techniques such as sleep hygiene and cognitive-behavioural strategies before resorting to medication. But while techniques can be highly effective, they take time and effort to succeed, and they’re incredibly difficult to explain in a ten-minute GP consultation.

So how effective are prescription drugs at getting us to sleep on demand? And what risks do they come with?

Benzodiazepines

The most commonly prescribed sleeping tablets in Australia are benzodiazepines (BZDs). Temazepam (known under brand names Normison, Temaze, TemTabs, Euhypnos) is a short-acting BZD, which means that within six hours it has had its effect and been excreted from the body. Other BZDs used for insomnia with slightly longer actions times include oxazepam (brand names Alepam, Murelax, Serepax), nitrazepam (Alodorm, Mogadon) and diazepam (Antenex, Valium).

Despite their unsavoury reputation as “date-rape drugs” and drugs of addiction, BZDs have a recognisable role in medical practice for treating a handful of sleep disorders and as part of the treatment of severe anxiety disorders. They’re also used to manage agitation, alcohol withdrawal and acute situational crisis episodes.

But given the limited number of generally accepted scenarios for prescribing them, it’s hard to work out why temazepam and diazepam alone were written on around 3.1 million Australian PBS prescriptions in 2010 alone. This doesn’t include oxazepam or alprazolam, which have a limited availability on the PBS.

The sleep-related benefits of BZDs only last couple of months. Longer-term users experience the withdrawal rebound insomnia when they try to skip doses. Users often assume they’ll never be able to sleep without them and may even decide that long-term dependence is preferable to any risk of a withdrawal syndrome.

The BZD withdrawal period is notoriously long and difficult, requiring slow weaning for months to avoid symptoms such as nausea, cravings, headaches, severe anxiety, poor concentration, mood swings and even delirium.

For these reasons, the National Prescribing Service’s guidelines recommend only short-term use.

The pharmacology of BZDs is very complex, but it’s fair to say there can be unpredictable effects that differ from one person to another due to genetic and developmental differences which can’t be foreseen.

Z-drugs

During the 1990s, a newer group of sleep drugs came onto the market. These drugs targeted more specific receptor subtypes on the brain than BZDs, though they worked in much the same way. These drugs have become known as the “Z-drugs” and include zolpidem (Stilnox, Stildem, Somidem) and zopiclone (Imovane, Imrest).

But despite hopes Z-drugs may have had fewer problems and better efficacy than the BZDs, there seems to be little to choose between them .

Zolpidem has been associated with complex automatic behaviours such as sleep-driving, - walking, - eating and other purposeful behaviours. A patient of mine was found cooking pasta at 3am, after having taken Zolpidem and going to sleep. She was in a confused state and had no recollection of the event the next day. Other people have reported writing emails in their sleep.

These kinds of adverse events were being reported in Australia long before the publicity surrounding Heath Ledger’s tragic death brought it to wider public and regulatory awareness in early 2008.

But it’s important to note that these problems aren’t isolated to Z-drugs: similar reactions have been reported with every other sleep drug.

Over-the-counter and herbal products

Despite widespread confidence in valerian plant preparations, there remains little convincing high-level evidence that it improves sleep quality. Some studies have found valerian to have a positive effect, but the lack of agreement in published trials means no clear conclusion can be drawn.

Valerian is believed to act via the same receptor pathway as BZDs and Z-drugs, so it would be reasonable to suspect the longer-term issues of tolerance and poor efficacy would be similar. It can also cause liver toxicity, as can kava. another popular herbal recommendation for insomnia.

Chamomile is the other very commonly recommended sleep herb, but I could only find one fairly decent (though small) trial which was negative.

As for the rest of the complementary medicines, a systematic review published in 2010 gives little cause for optimism.

Melatonin

The one area of mildly positive news is melatonin and its derivatives. Melatonin is a hormone secreted by the pituitary gland and can be produced synthetically. It’s also found in some plants, including cherries.

Melatonin appears to be fairly effective in aiding sleep the short term, and it seems to be free of major side effects.

We have no information on whether it remains effective in the longer term. Melatonin is an important regulatory hormone that contributes to several other processes in the body, so it’s possible there could be unforeseen problems with long-term use.

Some newer melatonin-like molecules may be better suited to the sleep-related functions of melatonin, while having less effect on the other hormonal systems it activates.

A word of warning

We have been struggling with sleep as a species for so long, the use of anything other than very occasional doses of sleep medications – over-the-counter or prescription – needs to be strongly justified by compelling clinical need.

As clinicians, we do not do patients a favour by overseeing the exchange of one set of problems for a whole raft of others they didn’t sign up for. But this may mean giving up on the idea of sleep on demand.

Bactrim (Diatrim 24)

Bactrim is used for treating infections caused by certain bacteria. Bactrim is an antibiotic combination containing a sulfonamide antibiotic. It works by killing sensitive bacteria.

Use Bactrim as directed by your doctor.

Take Bactrim by mouth with or without food.

Bactrim works best if it is taken at the same time each day.

Take Bactrim with a full glass of water (8 oz/240 mL). Drinking extra fluids while you are taking Bactrim is recommended. Check with your doctor for instructions.

To clear up your infection completely, take Bactrim for the full course of treatment. Keep taking it even if you feel better in a few days.

If you miss a dose of Bactrim, take it as soon as possible. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do not take 2 doses at once.

Ask your health care provider any questions you may have about how to use Bactrim.

Store Bactrim at room temperature, between 59 and 77 degrees F (15 and 25 degrees C). Store away from heat, moisture, and light. Keep in a tight, light-resistant container. Do not store in the bathroom. Keep Bactrim out of the reach of children and away from pets.

Active Ingredients: Sulfamethoxazole and trimethoprim.

Important safety information:

Bactrim may cause you to become sunburned more easily. Avoid the sun, sunlamps, or tanning booths until you know how you react to Bactrim. Use a sunscreen or wear protective clothing if you must be outside for more than a short time.

Mild diarrhea is common with antibiotic use. However, a more serious form of diarrhea (pseudomembranous colitis) may rarely occur. This may develop while you use the antibiotic or within several months after you stop using it. Contact your doctor right away if stomach pain or cramps, severe diarrhea, or bloody stools occur. Do not treat diarrhea without first checking with your doctor.

Contact your doctor right away if stomach pain or cramps, severe diarrhea, or bloody stools occur during treatment or within several months after treatment with Bactrim. Do not treat diarrhea without first checking with your doctor.

Be sure to use Bactrim for the full course of treatment. If you do not, the medicine may not clear up your infection completely. The bacteria could also become less sensitive to this or other medicines. This could make the infection harder to treat in the future.

Bactrim only works against bacteria; it does not treat viral infections (eg, the common cold).

Long-term or repeated use of Bactrim may cause a second infection. Tell your doctor if signs of a second infection occur. Your medicine may need to be changed to treat this.

Diabetes patients - Bactrim may affect your blood sugar. Check blood sugar levels closely. Ask your doctor before you change the dose of your diabetes medicine.

Bactrim may interfere with certain lab tests. Be sure your doctor and lab personnel know you are taking Bactrim.

Lab tests, including complete blood cell counts and kidney function, may be performed while you use Bactrim. These tests may be used to monitor your condition or check for side effects. Be sure to keep all doctor and lab appointments.

Use Bactrim with caution in the elderly; they may be more sensitive to its effects, especially severe skin reactions, bone marrow suppression, or high blood potassium levels.

Bactrim should not be used in children younger 2 months; safety and effectiveness in these children have not been confirmed.

Pregnancy and breast-feeding: If you become pregnant, contact your doctor. You will need to discuss the benefits and risks of using Bactrim while you are pregnant. Do not use Bactrim if you are in week 38 of pregnancy or later (full-term). Bactrim is found in breast milk. Do not breastfeed while taking Bactrim.

Updated February 22, 2016.
