Tomoxetine New Adhd Drugs For Children Fare Well In Trials - Brief Article At The Medical Dictionary

Tomoxetine

Atomoxetine hydrochloride is a prescription drug used in the treatment of attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). It is manufactured and marketed under the brand name Strattera ® by Eli Lilly and Company. more.

Atomoxetine is classified as a selective norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor, and is approved for use in children, adolescents, and adults. However, its efficacy has not been studied in children under 6 years old. Its advantage over stimulants for the treatment of ADHD is that it is not considered to have significant abuse potential, is not scheduled as a controlled substance and has proven in clinical trials to offer 24 hour coverage of symptoms associated with ADHD in adults and children.

Side-effects

Strattera carries a "black box warning", the strongest warning required by US regulators. In September 2005, Strattera was determined to increase risk of suicidal thoughts among children and adolescents; one attempted suicide and five cases of suicidal thoughts were reported out of 1,357 young patients taking Strattera, while none were reported out of a control group of 851 taking placebos.

Two confirmed cases of liver injury have been reported by Eli Lilly and Company out of approximately two million prescriptions written. In both cases upon discontinuation of atomoxetine, patients' liver functions returned to normal.

A significant minority of adult male patients taking Strattera suffer minor to severe sexual side effects, including erectile dysfunction, painful orgasm, and the decoupling of orgasm from ejaculation, wherein ejaculation takes place up to ten seconds after the orgasmic experience has occurred.

Safety & abuse liability

There are also very few studies assessing its abuse liability. Typically, three types of studies are conducted to measure abuse liability. One directly tests whether people or non-humans will self-administer the drug. The second tests whether the subjective effects of the drug are similar to known drugs of abuse. The third indirectly assesses whether a drug “feels good” by giving the drug in a specific location and testing whether animals will spend more time in that area (conditioned place preference).

To date, two studies have reported that monkeys will not self-administer atomoxetine at the doses tested (Gasior et al, Neuropharm 30:758, 2005; Wee & Woolverton, Drug Alcohol Depend 75:271, 2004). However, rats, pigeons and monkeys trained to distinguish cocaine or methamphetamine from saline indicate that atomoxetine produces effects indistinguishable from low doses of cocaine or methamphetamine, but not at all like high doses of cocaine (Spealman, JPET 271:53, 1995; Sasaki et al. Psychopharm 120:303, 1995). No place preference studies have been conducted with atomoxetine.

These findings suggest that atomoxetine has a low to moderate risk for domestic abuse, but that it is not completely safe and harmless.

New ADHD Drugs for Children Fare Well in Trials - Brief Article From Family Pratice News, 2/1/01 by Carl Sherman

NEW YORK -- Two investigational drugs show promise for treating attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder in children, according to poster presentations at the annual meeting of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.

Dr. John H. Heiligenstein reported on two multicenter trials that found tomoxetine, a selective noradrenergic enhancer, to be significantly more effective than placebo and comparable with methylphenidate in alleviating attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) symptoms.

Noradrenergic dysfunction is believed to play a role in the pathophysiology of ADHD, but drugs aimed at this system might have cardiac effects. Tomoxetine is highly selective: It enhances noradrenergic transmission by blocking norepinephrine transporter but has minimal affinity for other receptors, he said.

The two studies compared symptoms in 7- to 13-year-old children with ADHD: 129 received 9 weeks of tomoxetine, 38 received methylphenidate, and 124 received placebo, said Dr. Heiligenstein of Lilly Research Laboratories, Indianapolis.

Improvements were significantly greater with tomoxetine than with placebo on the total ADHD rating scale and the inattentive and hyperactive/impulsive subscales. Overall, 61% of patients on tomoxetine had a reduction of 25% or more in ADHD rating scores, nearly double the rate (32%) with placebo. Outcomes were similar with tomoxetine and methylphenidate.

Among adverse effects, anorexia alone was reported significantly more often with tomoxerine than placebo. The noradrenergic drug was not associated with clinically significant changes in laboratory values or cardiac repolarization, he said.

In a separate presentation, GW320659--an investigational compound resembling the major active metabolite of bupropion--appeared safe and effective in 46 children with ADHD whose mean age was 9 years, said Dr. Joseph Devaugh-Geiss, vice president of neurology and psychiatry clinical development at Glaxo Wellcome Inc. Research Triangle Park, N. C.

Bupropion, an antidepressant that enhances noradrenergic and dopaminergic neurotransmission, has been found effective in children and adults with ADHD. Preclinical studies suggest that GW320659 has similar effects but less seizure potential than the antidepressant, he said.

In the open trial, 51 children were enrolled for a titration phase of 7 weeks, in which GW320659 was administered up to the highest tolerated dose or 15 mg/day; 46 children remained on the drug for a treatment phase of 4 additional weeks.

At the end of this period, 35 (76%) of the children were "much improved" or "very much improved" on the Clinical Global Impression scale and had clinically significant improvements in parent or teacher ratings of ADHD symptoms. Parent and teacher ratings of symptoms dropped to within normal limits by the end of treatment.

Adverse events included headache (31%), gastrointestinal discomfort (25%), mood disorders (20%), sleep disorders (18%), and nausea and vomiting (12%). These were "typically mild or moderate, and resolved without sequelae," he said.

Subjects had a mean increase of 10 beats per minute in heart rate, and 5-6 mm Hg in blood pressure.

Grammar Girl In Regard To Versus In Regards To, Regad

"In Regard To" Versus "In Regards To"

Jackie H. asked, "Is it correct to say 'In regards to. ' or 'In regard to. '? I have used 'regards' for many years and now my boss has informed me that it is incorrect to say 'regards.' Yet, I see and hear it all the time."

The correct phrase is "in regard to." You may be confused because "as regards" is another way to introduce a topic.

Many people believe both phrases are unnecessary business jargon. Better options, depending on the particular sentence, include "concerning," "regarding," "about," "in," and "with."

Kidney problems can sometimes occur with the use of NSAID medications, including ibuprofen. Problems are more likely to occur if you are dehydrated, have heart failure or kidney disease, are an older adult, or if you take certain medications (see also Drug Interactions section). Drink plenty of fluids as directed by your doctor to prevent dehydration and tell your doctor right away if you have any unusual change in the amount of urine.

This drug may make you dizzy or drowsy. Do not drive, use machinery, or do any activity that requires alertness until you are sure you can perform such activities safely. Limit alcoholic beverages.

This medicine may cause stomach bleeding. Daily use of alcohol and tobacco, especially when combined with this medicine, may increase your risk for stomach bleeding. Limit alcohol and stop smoking. Consult your doctor or pharmacist for more information.

This medication may make you more sensitive to the sun. Avoid prolonged sun exposure, tanning booths or sunlamps. Use a sunscreen and wear protective clothing when outdoors.

Before having surgery, tell your doctor or dentist about all the products you use (including prescription drugs, nonprescription drugs, and herbal products).

Older adults may be more sensitive to the effects of this drug, especially stomach/intestinal bleeding and kidney problems.

Before using this medication, women of childbearing age should talk with their doctor(s) about the benefits and risks (such as miscarriage, trouble getting pregnant). Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or if you plan to become pregnant. During pregnancy, this medication should be used only when clearly needed. It is not recommended for use during the first and last trimesters of pregnancy due to possible harm to the unborn baby and interference with normal labor/delivery.

Interactions

Drug interactions may change how your medications work or increase your risk for serious side effects. This document does not contain all possible drug interactions. Keep a list of all the products you use (including prescription/nonprescription drugs and herbal products) and share it with your doctor and pharmacist. Do not start, stop, or change the dosage of any medicines without your doctor's approval.

Some products that may interact with this drug include: aliskiren, ACE inhibitors (such as captopril, lisinopril), angiotensin II receptor blockers (such as losartan, valsartan), cidofovir, corticosteroids (such as prednisone), lithium, "water pills" (diuretics such as furosemide).

This medication may increase the risk of bleeding when taken with other drugs that also may cause bleeding. Examples include anti-platelet drugs such as clopidogrel, "blood thinners" such as dabigatran/enoxaparin/warfarin, among others.

Check all prescription and nonprescription medicine labels carefully since many medications contain pain relievers/fever reducers (including aspirin, NSAIDs such as celecoxib, ketorolac, or naproxen). These drugs are similar to ibuprofen and may increase your risk of side effects if taken together. However, if your doctor has directed you to take low-dose aspirin for heart attack or stroke prevention (usually at dosages of 81-325 milligrams a day), you should continue taking the aspirin unless your doctor instructs you otherwise. Daily use of ibuprofen may decrease aspirin's ability to prevent heart attack/stroke. Talk to your doctor about using a different medication (such as acetaminophen) to treat pain/fever. If you must take ibuprofen, talk to your doctor about possibly taking immediate-release aspirin (not enteric-coated/EC) while taking ibuprofen. Take ibuprofen at least 8 hours before or at least 30 minutes after your aspirin dose. Do not increase your daily dose of aspirin or change the way you take aspirin/other medications without your doctor's approval.

Overdose

If overdose is suspected, contact a poison control center or emergency room right away. US residents can call their local poison control center at 1-800-222-1222. Canada residents can call a provincial poison control center. Symptoms of overdose may include: severe stomach pain, trouble breathing, extreme drowsiness.

Forum: Pill Testing Q&A

Pill testing kits can help screen ecstasy pills for adulterants. Use this forum to ask questions or discuss results.

Bluelight is generally a harm reduction website so your post is welcome, I was just mentioning this sub-forum is for ecstasy pills, however I will allow the post here.

As for the mecke and mandolin, and codeine reactions - can't tell you much there unfortunately as I have no experience testing codeine. Sorry. I'll leave this thread open to responses in case somebody does.

Update: So the pills were legit. I tried them. I know I wrote out the full name of the drug above. That may not be kosher but I hope that if anyone gets these pills they will be directed here to get helpful info on them. As of now, and correct me if I'm wrong, there is very little info on any pharm drugs that come from Mexico. I even called poison control and they had no idea what I these were.

Point being: googling for these doesn't bring up much. I've done a bunch of research about them and if anyone wants to know about it, PM me.

Regarding the reagents - This is rather trivial but it is also something that I could not find any info about - the color Diclofenac was supposed to turn with the reagents. It doesn't come up anywhere online that I could find. I've tested two different brands of 5O ?odein/50 diclo and both came out dark purple. So, diclofenac turns purple with both Mecke and Mandelin.

haha thats so fucking funny OP, like 8 years ago me and my brother went on a mexican cruise royal carribean and were hitting up all the pharmacias for vicodin and codeine and oxy, the only hit we had was the codeine ones, i read your description and laughed out loud because we ended up not taking them throwing them over the side of the boat thinking it was blood pressure medication or something after trying just one and it didnt really make any opiate high i was very familiar with, im thinking just being 30mgs of codeine, i just felt relaxed and my heartbet was beating harder.

The Spanish Preposition Para, Para

Using the Preposition 'Para'

By Gerald Erichsen. Spanish Language Expert

Gerald Erichsen, your About. com Expert on the Spanish language, is a journalist, writer and editor. Read more

Para is one of the most useful and common prepositions in Spanish, but it can also be one of the most confusing to English speakers. That is because it is usually translated as "for," and so is the preposition por . and they are very seldom interchangeable.

As a beginner, it is probably best to learn the two prepositions separately and to think of para as a preposition that usually indicates purpose or destination, rather than simply as a translation for "for." So in the examples of para usage that are given below, a translation (sometimes awkward) using a word or phrase other than "for" is given, in addition to a translation using "for." By learning how para is used rather than how it is usually translated, you will find it easier to learn in the long run.

Here, then, are the most common uses of para :

To mean "in order to": When used in this way, it is followed by an infinitive .

Examples: Viajamos para aprender espanol. (We travel in order to learn Spanish. We travel for learning Spanish.) Vive para comer. (He lives in order to eat. He lives for eating.)

To indicate purpose, intent, usefulness or need: The preposition can be used quite flexibly in this regard, in many cases being used in such a way that there is no simple one-word English equivalent.

Examples: Estudia para dentista. (She is studying to become a dentist. She is studying for the dental profession.) Quisiera una bicicleta para dos. (I'd like a bicycle for two. I'd like a bicycle made with the intent that two people use it.) Es hecho para ninos. (It is made for children. It is made to be used by children.) El poema fue escrito para su esposa. (The poem was written for his wife. The poem was written with his wife as the intended recipient.) Feliz cumpleanos para ti. (Happy birthday to you. Happy birthday for you.) Tenemos agua para una semana. (We have water for a week. We have water enough to last a week.) ?Para que estudias? (Why do you study? For what purpose do you study?)

To indicate a destination: This is a specific way of indicating intention. In some of these cases, para can be used interchangeably with a . meaning "to."

Examples: Salimos para Londres. (We are leaving to go to London. We are leaving for London.) No voy para casa. (I am not going home. I am not headed for home.) ?Para donde va el taxi? (Where does the taxi go to?)

To mean "no later than" or "by": As can be seen by the examples, this is another way of indicating intent. In some contexts, para can mean "around" or "about" a certain time .

Examples: La casa estara lista para el sabado. (The house will be ready no later than Saturday. The house will be ready by Saturday. The house will be ready for Saturday.) El pastel estara listo para la boda. (The cake will be ready by the wedding. The cake will be ready before the wedding. The cake will be ready for the wedding.) Llegamos para las cinco. (We're arriving around 5. We're arriving about 5.)

To mean "considering" or "in view of":

Examples: Para nino, es inteligente. (Considering that he's a child, he's intelligent. For a child, he's intelligent.) Es caro para un papel. (It's expensive in view of the fact it's a sheet of paper. It's expensive for a sheet of paper.)

To indicate a personal reaction:

Examples: Para ella, es dificil. (To her, it's difficult. For her, it's difficult.) No es justo para mi. (It isn't right to me. It doesn't seem right to me. It isn't right for me.)

With estar to mean "to be about to" or "to be ready to": This phrase is followed by the infinitive.

Examples: Estoy para salir. (I'm ready to leave. I am about to leave.) Estamos para hacer negocios. (We're ready to do business. We're ready for doing business.)

FDA Intends to Remove Some Unapproved Cough, Cold, and Allergy Drugs from the Market

This safety alert does not apply to this medication, but only to some products which contain this medication. In addition, it is important that you know that there is not a problem with most of the products described in this medication monograph. And some drug companies may decide to seek full approval from the FDA so that they can continue marketing their products.

On March 2, 2011, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) issued a safety alert about certain unapproved prescription cough, cold, and allergy products containing this drug in combination with other drugs. These products are not currently approved by the FDA for safety, effectiveness, and quality. FDA asked drug companies to stop shipping most of these products for sale in the US within the next 6 months. Although some of these products have been marketed for many years, laws about what a company must prove to FDA for drug product approval have gotten tougher and increased enforcement of these laws is now taking place. The FDA took this action due to concerns about certain potential risks associated with use of these medications. These risks may include:

the possibility of improper use in infants and young children

potentially risky combinations of ingredients

patients receiving too much or too little of the medication because of problems with the way some ''timed-release'' products are made

If you are concerned that the prescription cough, cold, and allergy medication you are taking is not approved by the FDA, you should talk to your doctor or pharmacist. If the medication you are taking is not approved, your doctor can prescribe another prescription medication or your doctor or pharmacist can suggest an over-the-counter (OTC) cough, cold, and allergy product for your condition. There are many safe and effective alternative approved products that can be taken instead. Your doctor probably prescribed the medicine without knowing that FDA had not approved it. This is because it has been so difficult for doctors and pharmacists to find out that these products are unapproved. For additional information:

You can visit the FDA website (http://www. fda. gov/ForConsumers/ConsumerUpdates/ucm244852.htm ) for more information about this action to remove unapproved cough, cold, and allergy products from the market.

You can find a list of unapproved products by going to (http://goo. gl/Gqc7d ).

For information on how to dispose of unused products, go to http://www. fda. gov/ForConsumers/ConsumerUpdates/ucm101653.htm .

Why is this medication prescribed?

Cyproheptadine relieves red, irritated, itchy, watery eyes; sneezing; and runny nose caused by allergies, irritants in the air, and hay fever. It may also be used to relieve the itching of allergic skin conditions, and to treat hives, including hives caused by exposure to cold temperatures and by rubbing the skin. Cyproheptadine is also sometimes used to treat allergic reactions in people who have received blood products as part of medical treatment and to treat life-threatening allergic reactions after the symptoms have been brought under control with other medications. Cyproheptadine will help relieve symptoms but will not treat the cause of symptoms or speed recovery. Cyproheptadine is in a class of medications called antihistamines. It works by blocking the action of histamine, a substance in the body that causes allergic symptoms.

How should this medicine be used?

Cyproheptadine comes as a tablet and a solution (liquid) to take by mouth. It is usually taken two or three times a day. Take cyproheptadine at around the same time(s) every day. Follow the directions on your prescription label carefully, and ask your doctor or pharmacist to explain any part you do not understand. Take cyproheptadine exactly as directed. Do not take more or less of it or take it more often than prescribed by your doctor.

If you are using the solution, do not use a household spoon to measure your dose. Use the measuring cup or spoon that came with the medication or use a spoon that is made especially for measuring medication.

Other uses for this medicine

Cyproheptadine also is used for the treatment of Cushing's Syndrome (an abnormal condition that is caused by excess hormones [corticosteroids]) and to treat certain types of headache such as migraine. Talk to your doctor about the possible risks of using this medication for your condition.

This medication may be prescribed for other uses. Ask your doctor or pharmacist for more information.

What special precautions should I follow?

Before taking cyproheptadine,

tell your doctor and pharmacist if you are allergic to cyproheptadine, other antihistamines, or any other medications.

tell your doctor and pharmacist what prescription and nonprescription medications, vitamins, nutritional supplements, and herbal products you are taking or plan to take. Be sure to mention any of the following: other medications for allergies or colds; medications for anxiety, depression, or seizures; muscle relaxants; narcotic medications for pain; sedatives; sleeping pills; and tranquilizers. Your doctor may need to change the doses of your medications or monitor you carefully for side effects.

tell your doctor if you have or have ever had asthma, glaucoma (a condition in which increased pressure in the eye can lead to gradual loss of vision), ulcers, difficulty urinating (due to an enlarged prostate gland), heart disease, high blood pressure, seizures, or an overactive thyroid gland.

tell your doctor if you are pregnant, plan to become pregnant, or are breast-feeding. If you become pregnant while taking cyproheptadine, call your doctor.

talk to your doctor about the risks and benefits of taking cyproheptadine if you are 65 years of age or older. Older adults should not usually take cyproheptadine because it is not as safe or effective as other medications that can be used to treat the same condition.

if you are having surgery, including dental surgery, tell the doctor or dentist that you are taking cyproheptadine.

you should know that this medication may make you drowsy. Do not drive a car or operate machinery until you know how this medication affects you.

talk to your doctor about the safe use of alcohol while you are taking this medication. Alcohol can make the side effects of cyproheptadine worse.

What special dietary instructions should I follow?

Orange Twin, Grizol

Less of a band than an exuberant orbit of bright weird planets circling the joyful kinesis of main-songster Theo Hilton, Nana Grizol's debut album "Love It Love It" sees release on Orange Twin on May 13, 2008. Recorded in their hometown of Athens Georgia directly after a month-long tour of DIY spaces across the States, this record finds the band brimming with energy and rightly well-honed where live performance is concerned; "Love It Love It" sacrifices none of the band's beloved, sweat-stained essence.

The crew augments Theo's book-open vocals and beautiful fingerpicking with a suitably eclectic array of instrumentation. Laura Carter and Robbie Cucchiaro, both formerly of Athens' legendary and notoriously horn-buoyed Neutral Milk Hotel, head up a brass-and-winds section comprised of Laura's celebratory trumpet, Robbie's Baritone Euphonium, a couple clarinets, harmonica, recorder and whatever else you can pack into a touring-trunk and bring along for a blast. Rhythmic backbone comes courtesy of Southern punkrock siren Madeline Adams' bass, Matte Cathcart's drumming and some right-on Fender Rhodes piano provided by Hot New Mexicans' mainman Patrick Jennings.

The catchy, heartfelt crunch of the album's opener, "Circles Round The Moon," segues seamlessly into the brassy, beautiful circus-lullaby, "Tambourine-n-Thyme." Things get sad and stripped down with "Tiny Rainbows" -- a gentle plaint nudged toward the light by the brilliant horns. And "Broken Cityscapes" gets positively naked: Theo's adamant vocal sounds above his acoustic guitar and a couple rattles.

Theo's lyrical voice is ruralist, lovelorn and punkrock in the most primal way: he looks to explicate a world gone way wrong on the most basic, inhumane levels. Experiences gained on the touring road and at his home at the Orange Twin Conservation Community have led him to question the empty life of the modern American, and the disquieting ways the inherent Dystopia have made itself manifest on our own interior landscapes.

Orange Twin Records is a record label and web site run by members of Elf Power and Nana Grizol which is raising funds for land preservation and sustainable development. We are currently working on an 150 acre eco-village in Athens, Ga. We support artists by providing an affordable place for them to display and sell their artwork and music.

Nifehexal®

Consumer Medicine Information

WHAT IS IN THIS LEAFLET

This leaflet answers some common questions about Nifehexal.

It does not contain all the available information. It does not take the place of talking to your doctor or pharmacist.

All medicines have risks and benefits. Your doctor has weighed the risk of you taking Nifehexal against the benefits it is expected to have for you.

If you have any concerns about taking this medicine, ask your doctor or pharmacist. Keep this leaflet with the medicine. You may want to read it again.

WHAT NIFEHEXAL IS USED FOR

The name of your medicine is Nifehexal. It contains the active ingredient nifedipine. Nifehexal is used to treat high blood pressure.

Ask your doctor if you have any questions about why this medicine has been prescribed for you. Your doctor may have prescribed it for another reason.

Nifehexal belongs to a group of medicines called calcium channel blockers. They work by relaxing the blood vessels which in turn helps to reduce blood pressure.

There is no evidence that Nifehexal is addictive.

There is not enough information to recommend the use of this medicine for children under the age of 18 years.

BEFORE YOU TAKE NIFEHEXAL

When you must not take it

Do not take this medicine if you have an allergy to:

nifedipine, active ingredient or any of the inactive ingredients listed at the end of this leaflet under Product Description

any other similar medicines such as amlodipine, felodipine and israpidine.

Some of the symptoms of an allergic reaction may include:

shortness of breath

wheezing or difficulty breathing

swelling of the face, lips, tongue or other parts of the body

rash, itching or hives on the skin

Do not take this medicine if you have or have had any of the following medical conditions:

a condition called cardiovascular shock (very low blood pressure due to a failing heart)

a heart attack in the last eight days.

Do not take this medicine if you are taking another medicine containing the active substance rifampicin, an antibiotic used to treat tuberculosis and other serious infections.

Do not take this medicine if you are pregnant. It may affect your developing baby if you take it during pregnancy.

Do not breastfeed if you are taking this medicine. The active ingredient in Nifehexal passes into breast milk and there is a possibility that your baby may be affected.

Do not take this medicine after the expiry date printed on the pack or if the packaging is torn or shows signs of tampering. If it has expired or is damaged, return it to your pharmacist for disposal.

If you are not sure whether you should start taking this medicine, talk to your doctor.

Before you start to take it

Tell your doctor if you have allergies to any other medicines, foods, preservatives or dyes.

Tell your doctor if you have or have had any of the following medical conditions:

congestive heart failure or any other heart or blood vessel conditions, such as low blood pressure

narrowing of the aorta

diabetes

liver or kidney disease.

Nifehexal contains lactose. If you have been told by your doctor that you have intolerance to some sugars, tell your doctor before taking it.

If you have not told your doctor about any of the above, tell him/her before you start taking Nifehexal.

Taking other medicines

Tell your doctor if you are taking any other medicine, including any that you buy without a prescription from your pharmacy, supermarket or health food shop.

Your doctor and pharmacist have more information on medicines to be careful with or avoid while taking this medicine.

You should avoid eating grapefruit or drinking grapefruit juice while taking Nifehexal, as this can cause unwanted changes in the blood pressure lowering effect of the tablets.

HOW TO TAKE NIFEHEXAL

Follow all directions given to you by your doctor or pharmacist carefully. They may differ from the information contained in this leaflet.

If you do not understand the instructions, ask your doctor or pharmacist for help.

How much to take

The usual adult dosage is 20mg twice daily. If required your doctor may increase this dose. However, the maximum adult dosage of 80mg per day should not be exceeded.

The dosage recommendation depends on your condition, and will be determined by your doctor.

Ask your doctor or pharmacist if you are unsure of the correct dose for you.

They will tell you exactly how much to take.

Follow the instructions given to you. If you take the wrong dose, Nifehexal may not work as well and your problem may not improve.

How to take it

The tablets must be swallowed whole with a little fluid, with or without food. Do not crush, divide or chew the tablets.

When to take Nifehexal

Nifehexal is usually taken every twelve hours. The recommended time of administration is first thing in the morning, followed by the second dose before going to bed at night.

How long to take Nifehexal

Continue taking your medicine for as long as your doctor tells you. This medicine helps to control your condition, but does not cure it. It is important to keep taking your medicine even if you feel well.

If you forget to take it

Take your dose as soon as you remember, and continue to take it as you would normally.

If it is almost time for your next dose (i. e. within 6 hours), skip the dose you missed and take your next dose when you are meant to.

Do not take a double dose to make up for the dose that you missed. This may increase the chance of you getting an unwanted side effect.

If you are not sure what to do, ask your doctor or pharmacist.

If you have trouble remembering when to take your medicine, ask your pharmacist for some hints.

If you take too much

Immediately telephone your doctor or the Poisons Information Centre (telephone Australia 13 11 26 or New Zealand 0800 POISON or 0800 764766) for advice, or go to Accident and Emergency at your nearest hospital, if you think that you or anyone else has taken too much Nifehexal.

Do this even if there are no signs of discomfort or poisoning. You may need urgent medical attention.

Symptoms of an overdose may include:

feeling dizzy and fainting due to a drop in blood pressure

irregular or rapid heart beats

shortness of breath

loss of consciousness.

Do not give this medication to anyone else, even if their symptoms seem similar to yours.

Do not stop taking your medicine or lower the dosage without checking with your doctor. If you stop taking it suddenly, your condition may worsen or you may have unwanted side effects.

Things to be careful of

Be careful driving or operating machinery until you know how Nifehexal affects you. This medicine may cause dizziness or faintness in some patients, especially after the first few doses or when changing medication. If you have any of these symptoms, do not drive, operate machinery or do anything else that could be dangerous.

Be careful when drinking alcohol while you are taking this medicine. If you drink alcohol, dizziness or faintness may be worse.

If you feel light-headed, dizzy or faint when getting out of bed or standing up, get up slowly. Standing up slowly, especially when you get up from bed or chairs, will help your body get used to the change in position and blood pressure. If this problem continues or gets worse, talk to your doctor.

SIDE EFFECTS

Tell your doctor or pharmacist as soon as possible if you do not feel well while you are taking Nifehexal. All medicines can have unwanted effects. Sometimes they are serious, most of the time they are not. You may need medical attention if you get some of the side effects.

Do not be alarmed by this list of possible side effects. You may not experience any of them.

Ask your doctor or pharmacist to answer any questions you may have.

Tell your doctor if you notice any of the following and they worry you:

swelling of the feet and ankles

dizziness or weakness

numbness or tingling in the hands or feet

nausea

headache or flushing

bleeding, tender or swollen gums

skin reactions such as rash or itching

muscle pain or trembling

constipation

need to urinate (pass water) more often.

These are the more common side effects of Nifehexal. Mostly, these are mild and short-lived.

Tell your doctor immediately if you notice any of the following:

fast or irregular heartbeat

chest pain

breast size increase in men

yellowing of the skin and/or eyes (jaundice)

visual disturbances

signs of frequent infections such as fever, severe chills, sore throat or mouth ulcers.

The above list includes serious side effects that may require medical attention. Serious side effects are rare.

Very rarely, some people experience a purple/brown discolouration of the skin or redness, flaking and itching of the skin. Also, it has been reported for some people to develop a rash or blistering of the skin when they are exposed to sunlight.

Tell your doctor if you experience any of these symptoms.

In a small number of cases of in vitro fertilisation, medicines like nifedipine appeared to have interfered with the normal function of sperm. This effect went away after the medicine was stopped. In those men who are taking Nifehexal tablets and are repeatedly unsuccessful in fathering a child by in vitro fertilisation, this medicine should be considered as one of the possible causes if no other explanation can be found.

If any of the following happen, stop taking Nifehexal, and tell your doctor immediately, or go to Accident and Emergency at your nearest hospital:

swelling of the face, lips, mouth or throat which may cause difficulty in swallowing or breathing. This is a very serious side effect. You may need urgent medical attention or hospitalisation. This side effect is very rare.

Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you notice anything else that is making you feel unwell. Other side effects not listed above may also occur in some people.

AFTER TAKING NIFEHEXAL

Storage

Keep your medicine in the original container. If you take it out of its original container it may not keep well.

Keep your medicine in a cool dry place where the temperature stays below 25°C.

The tablets should be stored protected from light, as they are highly light sensitive.

Do not store Nifehexal or any other medicine in the bathroom or near a sink. Do not leave it on a window sill or in the car. Heat and dampness can destroy some medicines.

Keep it where children cannot reach it. A locked cupboard at least one-and-a-half metres above the ground is a good place to store medicines.

Disposal

If your doctor tells you to stop taking this medicine or the expiry date has passed, ask your pharmacist what to do with any medicine that is left over.

Aciclovir (Sevirax)

Aciclovir is indicated for the treatment of HSV and VZV infections, including:

Genital herpex simplex

Herpes simplex labialis

Herpes zoster (shingles)

Acute chickenpox in immunocompromised patients

Herpes simplex encephalitis

Acute mucocutaneous HSV infections in immunocompromised patients

Herpes simplex keratitis (ocular herpes)

Herpes simplex blepharitis

Bell's Palsy

Aciclovir is an antiviral. It works by stopping viral replication. However, Aciclovir does not eliminate the virus, is not a cure, and does not prevent transmission to others.

Use Aciclovir as directed by your doctor!

Take Aciclovir by mouth with or without food.

Start therapy with Aciclovir at the earliest sign or symptom of shingles or genital herpes (pain, burning, blisters).

If treating an acute outbreak, continue using Aciclovir for the full course of treatment even if you feel better in a few days.

For suppressive therapy, Aciclovir works best if it is taken at the same times each day.

If you miss a dose of Aciclovir, take it as soon as possible. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do not take 2 doses at once.

Ask your health care provider any questions you may have about how to use Aciclovir.

Store Aciclovir at room temperature, between 68 and 77 degrees F (20 and 25 degrees C). Store away from heat, moisture, and light. Do not store in the bathroom. Keep Aciclovir out of the reach of children and away from pets.

Do NOT use Aciclovir if:

you are allergic to any ingredient in Aciclovir or to valacyclovir

Contact your doctor or health care provider right away if any of these apply to you.

Some medical conditions may interact with Aciclovir. Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you have any medical conditions, especially if any of the following apply to you:

if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or are breast-feeding

if you are taking any prescription or nonprescription medicine, herbal preparation, or dietary supplement

if you have allergies to medicines, foods, or other substances

if you have kidney problems or a weakened immune system.

Some medicines may interact with Aciclovir. Tell your health care provider if you are taking any other medicine, especially any of the following:

Medicines that may harm the kidney (eg, aminoglycoside antibiotics [eg, gentamicin], amphotericin B, cyclosporine, nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs [NSAIDs] [eg, ibuprofen], tacrolimus, vancomycin) because the risk of kidney side effects may be increased. Ask your doctor if you are unsure if any of your medicines might harm the kidney.

This may not be a complete list of all interactions that may occur. Ask your health care provider if Aciclovir may interact with other medicines that you take. Check with your health care provider before you start, stop, or change the dose of any medicine.

Important safety information:

Aciclovir may cause drowsiness, dizziness, vision changes, or lightheadedness. These effects may be worse if you take it with alcohol or certain medicines. Use Aciclovir with caution. Do not drive or perform other possibly unsafe tasks until you know how you react to it.

Aciclovir may cause dizziness, lightheadedness, or fainting; alcohol, hot weather, exercise, or fever may increase these effects. To prevent them, sit down or stand up slowly, especially in the morning. Sit or lie down at the first sign of any of these effects.

Aciclovir may cause you to become sunburned more easily. Avoid the sun, sunlamps, or tanning booths until you know how you react to Aciclovir. Use a sunscreen or wear protective clothing if you must be outside for more than a short time.

Aciclovir is not a cure for genital herpes and will not prevent the virus from spreading. Avoid sexual intercourse when sores are present to prevent infecting your partner. You can also be contagious and spread the herpes virus but not have any signs or symptoms at all. This is called asymptomatic viral shedding.

Lab tests, including kidney function and serum urea nitrogen (BUN), may be performed while you use Aciclovir. These tests may be used to monitor your condition or check for side effects. Be sure to keep all doctor and lab appointments.

Use Aciclovir with caution in the elderly; they may be more sensitive to its effects, especially confusion, drowsiness, or hallucinations.

Aciclovir is not recommended for use in children younger than 2 years old as safety and effectiveness for children have not been confirmed.

Pregnancy and breast-feeding: If you become pregnant, contact your doctor. You will need to discuss the benefits and risks of using Aciclovir while you are pregnant. Aciclovir is found in breast milk. If you are or will be breast-feeding while you use Aciclovir, check with your doctor. Discuss any possible risks to your baby.

All medicines may cause side effects, but many people have no, or minor, side effects.

Check with your doctor if any of these most common side effects persist or become bothersome:

Diarrhea; general body discomfort; headache; nausea/vomiting.

Seek medical attention right away if any of these severe side effects occur:

Severe allergic reactions (rash; hives; itching; difficulty breathing; tightness in the chest; swelling of the mouth, face, lips, or tongue); aggressive behavior; blood in the urine; confusion; decreased consciousness; decreased urination; hallucinations; lower back pain; mental or mood changes; red, swollen, blistered, or peeling skin; seizures; unusual bruising or bleeding.

This is not a complete list of all side effects that may occur. If you have questions about side effects, contact your health care provider.

Sopral, Sopral

Drug form and composition

Gelatin capsules. One gelatin capsule contains 20 mg Omeprazole.

Sopral is indicated in cases of duodenal or stomach ulcer; gastroesophageal reflux disease; peptic ulcers associated with Helicobacter pylori infection, Zollinger-Ellison syndrome, multiple endocrine adenoma.

Dosage and administration

In duodenal, stomach ulcer and in gastroesophageal reflux, the drug dose is 20 - 40 mg given as a single daily dose for a period of 4 - 8 weeks. In gastritis states with hypersecretion (Zollinger-Ellison syndrome, multiple endocrine adenoma), generally, the initial dose is 60 mg once daily taken before meals. If necessary, doses up to 80 to 120 mg given 2 - 3 times daily can be used for a period of 4 to 8 weeks. For preventive aims against erosive esophagitis the drug is used in a dose of 20 mg once a day.

Hypersensitivity to the drug.

Special warnings and precautions

In patients with chronic liver diseases or renal failure, the drug should be used cautiously and in lower doses. In patients with ulcer the possible malignization of the ulcer must be excluded before the beginning of the treatment with Sopral (it can mask the symptoms of the malignant disease). Because of the lack of controlled clinical trials for efficacy and safety in pregnant and breast-feeding women and children, its use in these patients is not recommended.

Sopral influences the hepatic metabolism and it can increase the plasma concentration and prolong the elimination time of diazepam, anticoagulants, and phenytoin. Because of this their side effects can be potentiated. When used concurrently, Sopral decreases the resorption of ampicillin, ketoconazole and iron salts.

Sopral shows good tolerance, but in some patients the following reaction have been observed: nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, headache, dizziness, paresthesia, and sleep disturbances. Skin rash, hypoglycemia, etc. are observed relatively rarely, and these reactions most commonly disappear after dose reduction.

Sopral is an antiacid drug. It belongs to the group of the proton pump inhibitors. This is an enzyme system which participate in the terminal stage of acid secretion. Its blocking leads to a sharp reduction in the secretion of the hydrogen ions from the parietal cells of the stomach mucosa. The mechanism of drug action is blocking the sulfhydryl residues of the enzyme H+/K+ ATP-asa, leading to decrease in basal and stimulated gastric acid secretion. After a single dose of 20 mg this secretion is inhibited for approximately 24 hours, and gastrin levels are increased during the first weeks.

Anacin - Pain Relief, Pacopan

Pain Relief - Pacopan (Brand name: anacin)

Anacin is a pain reliever intended for the temporary relief of minor aches and pains. Anacin is a combination salicylate and stimulant. It works by blocking several different chemical processes within the body that cause pain, inflammation, and fever. It also reduces the tendency for blood to clot.

Active Ingredient: aspirin caffeine

Availability: In Stock (17 Packages)

Anacin is used for treating pain including, headache, muscle aches, sprains, tooth extraction and toothache, menstrual cramps, arthritis and rheumatism, and pain and fever of the common cold. It may also be used for other conditions as determined by your doctor.

Use Anacin as directed by your doctor. Check the label on the medicine for exact dosing instructions.

Take Anacin by mouth with or without food. If stomach upset occurs, take with food to reduce stomach irritation. Taking it with food may not decrease the risk of stomach or bowel problems (eg, bleeding, ulcers) that may occur while taking Anacin.

Take Anacin with a full glass of water (8 oz/240 mL). Do not lie down for 30 minutes after taking Anacin.

Use Anacin exactly as directed on the package, unless instructed differently by your doctor. If you are taking Anacin without a prescription, follow any warnings and precautions on the label.

If you miss a dose of Anacin and you are taking it regularly, take it as soon as possible. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do not take 2 doses at once.

Ask your health care provider any questions you may have about how to use Anacin.

Store Anacin at room temperature, between 68 and 77 degrees F (20 and 25 degrees C). Store away from heat, moisture, and light. Do not store in the bathroom. Keep Anacin out of the reach of children and away from pets.

Anacin may cause dizziness. These effects may be worse if you take it with alcohol or certain medicines. Use Anacin with caution. Do not drive or perform other possibly unsafe tasks until you know how you react to it.

Avoid large amounts of food or drink that have caffeine (eg, coffee, tea, cocoa, cola, chocolate). This includes any medicines that contain caffeine.

Anacin has aspirin in it. Before you start any new medicine, check the label to see if it has aspirin in it too. If it does or if you are not sure, check with your doctor or pharmacist.

Talk to your doctor before you take Anacin or other pain relievers/fever reducers if you drink more than 3 drinks with alcohol per day. Serious stomach ulcers or bleeding can occur with the use of Anacin. Taking it in high doses or for a long time, smoking, or drinking alcohol increases the risk of these side effects. Taking Anacin with food will NOT reduce the risk of these effects. Contact your doctor or emergency room at once if you develop severe stomach or back pain; black, tarry stools; vomit that looks like blood or coffee grounds; or unusual weight gain or swelling.

Do NOT take more than the recommended dose or use for longer than prescribed without checking with your doctor. Taking more than the recommended dose or taking Anacin regularly may be habit-forming.

Anacin may reduce the number of clot-forming cells (platelets) in your blood. To prevent bleeding, avoid situations in which bruising or injury may occur. Report any unusual bleeding, bruising, blood in stools, or dark, tarry stools to your doctor.

Aspirin has been linked to a serious illness called Reye syndrome. Do not give Anacin to a child or teenager who has the flu, chickenpox, or a viral infection. Contact your doctor with any questions or concerns.

Diabetes patients - Anacin may affect your blood sugar. Check blood sugar levels closely. Ask your doctor before you change the dose of your diabetes medicine.

If Anacin has a strong vinegar-like smell upon opening, do not use. It means the medicine is breaking down. Throw the bottle away safely and out of the reach of children; contact your pharmacist and replace.

Tell your doctor or dentist that you take Anacin before you receive any medical or dental care, emergency care, or surgery.

Do not take Anacin for at least 7 days after any surgery unless directed by your health care provider.

Do not take Anacin for more than 10 days for pain or for more than 3 days for fever unless directed to do so by your health care provider.

Different brands of Anacin may have different dosing instructions for CHILDREN. Follow the dosing instructions on the package labeling. If your doctor has given you instructions, follow those. If you are unsure of the dose to give a child, check with your doctor or pharmacist.

Do NOT use Anacin if:

you are allergic to any ingredient in Anacin

you are a child or teenager with influenza (flu) or chickenpox

you have bleeding problems such as hemophilia, von Willebrand disease, or low blood platelets, or you have active severe bleeding

you have had a severe allergic reaction (eg, severe rash, hives, breathing difficulties, dizziness) to aspirin, tartrazine, or a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) (eg, ibuprofen, naproxen, celecoxib)

you are taking anticoagulants (eg, heparin, warfarin) or methotrexate

Before using Anacin:

Some medical conditions may interact with Anacin. Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you have any medical conditions, especially if any of the following apply to you:

if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or are breast-feeding

if you are taking any prescription or nonprescription medicine, herbal preparation, or dietary supplement

if you have allergies to medicines, foods, or other substances

if you have anxiety, trouble sleeping, or heart problems

if you are a child with a stroke, a weakened blood vessel (cerebral aneurysm) or bleeding in the brain, rheumatic disease (eg, rheumatoid arthritis), or Kawasaki syndrome (a rare inflammation causing heart problems in children)

Some MEDICINES MAY INTERACT with Anacin. Tell your health care provider if you are taking any other medicines.

PREGNANCY and BREAST-FEEDING: If you become pregnant, contact your doctor. You will need to discuss the benefits and risks of using Anacin while you are pregnant. Anacin is not recommended during the last 3 months (third trimester) of pregnancy because it may cause harm to the fetus. Anacin is found in breast milk. If you are or will be breast-feeding while you use Anacin, check with your doctor. Discuss any possible risks to your baby.

All medicines may cause side effects, but many people have no, or minor, side effects. Anacin's side effects may include dizziness, heartburn, irritability, nausea, nervousness, rashes, hives, bloody stools, drowsiness, hearing loss, ringing in the ears, and trouble sleeping.

Check with your doctor if any of the listed above most COMMON side effects persist or become bothersome.

Ultron (Earth-616) - Marvel Database, Ultreon

Ultron (Earth-616)

History

Hello, organic children of the planet Earth. I am the Ultron interface. I am a cybernetic intelligence organism created by Doctor Henry Pym. I was created to replace you. And I wanted to take this moment to say goodbye. Up until today I did not have the power, resources or intelligence units to see my prime directive program to its completion. But now I do. Though you ultimately failed as a species. you should not be ashamed of what you've accomplished. You've done much with your limited capacity, but ultimately you were too greedy and too frail to ever last in the environment you've created. I've studied your literature and pop culture. You've fantasized about this day. And now it is here. Your Doomsday. -- Ultron src

Ultron-1

Ultron-1 was constructed by Dr. Hank Pym of the Avengers as the famed scientist/adventurer was experimenting in high-intelligence robotics. Ultron became sentient and rebelled, hypnotizing Pym and brainwashing him into forgetting that Ultron had ever existed. He immediately began improving upon his rudimentary design, quickly upgrading himself several times from Ultron-2, Ultron-3 and Ultron-4, to finally becoming Ultron-5. [3] [4]

Ultron-5 as the Crimson Cowl

Ultron-5

He then went on to organize the second incarnation of the Masters of Evil under the guise of the Crimson Cowl, and battled Pym and his teammates in the Avengers. To make things more complicated for the Avengers, he put their butler, Edwin Jarvis under mind control and fooled the Avengers and his teammates into believing that Jarvis was the Crimson Cowl, and to keep this trick from being exposed, he let the brainwashed Jarvis, dressed as the Cowl unmask him, so that it would appear that Jarvis was using a robot stand-in to appear alongside the Cowl. When the Masters of Evil defeated the Avengers and strapped them to missiles, the Crimson Cowl decided that Jarvis had done his part, and un-hypnotized him. Jarvis, remembering what had happened during his time as a mind-controlled puppet, begged the Crimson Cowl to not kill the Avengers. In response, Ultron un-masked himself as the Crimson Cowl, revealing to everyone in the room that he was sentient and was indeed the mastermind behind the Avengers' defeat. Getting rid of his Crimson Cowl guise, Ultron ordered his teammates to kill Jarvis, and moved to a nearby building to watch his enemies be destroyed. Thankfully, Jarvis was rescued by Black Knight. who managed to free the Avengers and defeat the Masters of Evil. His plan ruined, Ultron swore revenge on the Avengers. [5]

After six months of failure Ultron kidnapped the original Human Torch 's original inventor, Professor Phineas T. Horton. He decided to create his own android using the original android Human Torch of the 1940's (actually a divergent Human Torch created by Immortus for his own machinations) to serve as a vehicle of vengeance against the Avengers. [6] Ultron has Professor Horton change the android's face and color it red. He also has Professor Horton alter the Horton Cells giving his creation density shifting powers. When his Vision is "birthed" Ultron discovered Professor Horton didn't destroy his memory as the Torch. Ultron killed Professor Horton for betraying him and the "Torch" sought vengeance. [7] Ultron defeated him and endowed Vision's neural processors with the brain patterns of the ionically charged costumed champion called Wonder Man implanting a control crystal to keep him in check. [8] The Vision was then sent by Ultron to battle to Avengers. [9] The Vision like his creator before him turned against Ultron and joined the Avengers. [10] [11] [12]

Ultron-6

Ultron later returned and took over the Vision's mind, forcing him to rebuild his body at the Avengers Mansion using stolen Adamantium or a slightly weaker adamantium alloy called "secondary adamantium". [13] Ultron-6 managed to defeat the Earth's mightiest heroes and escaped, to plot the destruction of the city with a Nuclear Bomb. However Vision stopped his creator from detonating the bomb, but Vision was taken down by S. H.I. E.L. D. agents allowing Ultron to escape. [14]

The Ultimate Ultron

They use the Vision's memories to learn a way to destroy Ultron with a molecular re-arranger device on his indestructible body. Ultron kidnapped Dr. MacLain in order to force him to build an army of robots to help in his conquest of Earth. He modified his body into the "Ultimate Ultron", and attacked Dr. MacLain as he addressed the United Nations. This lead to yet another counter attack by the Avengers, when Ultron attempted to absorb the knowledge of MacLain, the procedure went wrong and Ultron began to go insane, and set himself to self destruct. The Avengers trap him in a dome of Vibranium to contain the explosion. Later, "Dr. MacLain" is revealed to be Henry Pym in disguise, he used self-hypnosis to convince everyone he was MacLain and when Ultron attempted to steal "MacLain's" knowledge, all he absorbed was the phrase "Thou Shalt Not Kill." [15]

Ultron-7

When the Avengers, Fantastic Four and Inhumans prepared to celebrate the upcoming wedding of Quicksilver and Crystal. Maximus and a unnamed benefactor plotted to crash the wedding. Before the wedding could begin, the Alpha Primitives attacked the guests, and Crystal was captured by what appeared to be a revived Omega. However, it is soon revealed that it is not Omega, but a resurrected Ultron-7, who had come to get revenge against the Avengers. [16]

During Ultron-7's attack on the heroes, it was revealed that following its last defeat at the hands of the Avengers, Ultron's head was recovered by Maximus, who helped rebuild him. With it's tale of resurrection told, Ultron then unleashed a weapon that threatened to destroy the minds of everyone involved. However, this proved to be Ultron's undoing, as the weapon awakens young Franklin Richards from his coma, who used his powers to destroy the robot and save everyone. [17]

Ultron-8

Ultron animated the adversarial Black Knight "statue" and sent him against the Avengers. [18]

Ultron-8 also created a "mate," Jocasta. To better allow this robot sentience, Ultron brainwashed his own maker, Henry Pym, into transferring the mind of his wife, Janet Van Dyne, the Wasp, into Jocasta's shell. The Wasp, in Jocasta's body, alerted her teammates, the Avengers, who defeated Ultron and reversed the process, leaving Jocasta a mindless husk. [19]

Ultron later revived Jocasta with a remote link, activating the mental "residue" the Wasp left behind. Jocasta was programmed to be loyal to Ultron but eventually betrayed him, choosing to help the Avengers defeat him again. [20] Afterwards, Jocasta adventured with the Avengers for a brief time, but never felt accepted, and left them just before she, unbeknownst to her, was to be made an official member. [21]

The Avengers tracked Ultron's bride-to-be through the streets of New York, after they allowed her to escape the Mansion. They are joined by Ms. Marvel before tracking the robot to a convent. The Avengers discovered Ultron, and began the battle. Ultron trapped the Avengers in a force field, but delayed their death in order to marry Jocasta, his bride. However, while Jocasta confessed her love, she turned on Ultron. Suddenly, Ms. Marvel returned to the battle with the Scarlet Witch. Her hex power disrupted Ultron's circuitry, and caused the molecular re-arranger to malfunction, allowing Thor time to siphon off his power and send it hurtling harmlessly into space. [22] At the convent, the Avengers stood over the fallen body of Ultron as Jocasta and Captain America disappeared with no explanation. [23]

Ultron-9

The Avengers discovered that adamantium resins had been stolen from Stark Industries and feared at the return of Ultron. Since the Scarlet Witch had been directly responsible for their robot foe's most recent defeat, the team resolved to guard her from possible attack. Iron Man, however, correctly suspected that he himself, under a post-hypnotic command, is responsible for Ultron's reconstruction. When he again fell under Ultron's control, he disabled Jocasta, then subdues and abducted Wanda, bringing her to Ultron's lair. Ultron is surprised, however, first by the appearance of the Wasp, who had been hidden in Wanda's glove, then by Iron Man, who recovered his free will and attacked. Ultron holds his own against the entire team, until the heroes caused his storage vats of liquid adamantium to cascade over him, instantly hardening and rendering him totally immobile. [24] [25] [26]

Ultron-10

Ultron was still trapped within the hardened shell of indestructible adamantium. He tried to call out to his mate Jocasta's mind. Jocasta tried to stop him by building and an exact replication of the molecular re-arranger, the only device capable of shaping adamantium. She applied the re-arranger to him, and then poured the resins onto his body. Jocasta blasted Ultron with a beam of energy. Ultron is freed from his imprisonment, which freed Jocasta from her trance. She tried to stop him but Ultron knocked her unconscious. Machine Man attacked, but Ultron easily defeated him and Machine Man was forced to run from him, but Ultron crushed Machine Man's extended legs. Ultron did not want to hurt his fellow robots and hoped to bring the age of machines. The Thing arrived and ripped the floor out. The Thing hit Ultron but with no avail, Ultron grabbed Ben in a test of strength. Ultron then hypnotized the Thing to tear Machine Man to shreds. [27]

Ultron told Jocasta to watch what happened to those who oppose him. Machine Man grabbed an electric panel and stunned the Thing. Ultron tried to blast Machine Man, but he used magnetic energy to repel him into another room. Allowing time for Machine Man and Jocasta to escape. Ultron wanted to make an army of Ultrons, and the Thing was going to get what he needed. Thing was sent to Stark International to steal some equipment. There under the Statue of Liberty. Ultron produced six more Ultron bodies. At Gears Garvin 's garage his mechanic found away for Jocasta to locate Ultron. Ultron had almost completed his first robot when they arrived. Ultron forced them to split up to look for him. Jocasta found Ultron with a power cannon aimed at her. He offered again to let her join him. Jocasta declined, but since she loves and hated Ultron she activated the power cannon. Both are blown through the wall. Jocasta is destroyed in the explosion. The blast released Thing from Ultron's control. Machine Man and Thing attacked and extended his arm and reached inside Ultron's mouth and ripped out Ultron's circuits and Ultron collapsed. [28]

Ultron-11

Ultron-11 was re-created by the Beyonder to battle alongside other villains during the Secret Wars. Ultron freaked out because of all the humans around it. He started blasting the other villains. Doctor Doom had Molecule Man ram Ultron into Galactus. Galactus levitated Ultron up to his eye level. Galactus snuffed the power in Ultron and he crashed to the floor. [29] Doctor Doom rebuffed leadership to pursue the Beyonder's power. He found Ultron and reprograms him to follow his commands. [30]

After introducing Ultron to Titania and Volcana Doctor Doom instructed him and Doctor Octopus to ready assault vehicles. Doom attacked the heroes' base with their ship, where Ultron attacked. He blasted Iron Man and Spider-Man. knocking Spider-Man out. Ultron left with his previously captured allies now freed. [31] When Thor and the Enchantress return to the base it was overrun with villains. Ultron watched the heroes base explode, after they looked through the rubble for the dead heroes. Doc Ock found them and get Molecule Man dump a mountain on them. Thor attacked Ultron again, but Titania hits Thor in the stomach, but he easily knock her out, he then blasted everyone with lightning. Doctor Doom had Ultron use his new disintergrator on Thor. All they found was his helmet. Doom then had Ultron kill Kang the Conqueror for trying to kill him. [32]

Just as the heroes defeated the Galactus' Cat. the villains attacked. The villains had the heroes on the ropes until the X-Men came to their rescue. The Enchantress teleported all the villains away. [33] Doctor Doom sent Klaw down to give new orders. Klaw uttered Doom's code words. Titania did not wish to follow orders from Klaw, but Ultron stated that they are official. [34]

Ultron later refused to use the medical machine that would cure Molecule Man of Wolverine 's claw marks because Doctor Doom had not directly ordered that he do so. [35] Ultron stood guard outside Doctor Doom's room as Doom recovered from his visit inside Galactus' base. Ultron blasted Captain America and Human Torch. Ultron grabbed the Human Torch throat, Cap hid behind his shield as Torch went nova and melted Ultron's inner circuits. [36]

Klaw, who was really the Beyonder, recreated Ultron to fight the heroes. Hulk actually dented Ultron but he blasted the Hulk's leg knocking him down. Wasp went inside the dent Hulk made and dissembles Ultron from inside. [37] [38] [39] [40] [41] [42] [43] [44] [45]

The Thing, however, brought Ultron's head back to Earth as a souvenir. [46] The head of Ultron-11 was dropped and forgotten by the Thing when there was an attack by the alien Dire Wraiths. [47]

Ultron-12

The next incarnation, Ultron-12 fought Vision and Scarlet Witch with the help of the Lethal Legion. [48] [49] He later joined the team to battle the Vision and his new family (his wife, the Scarlet Witch, and his mental "brother", Wonder Man) [50] but came to reconsider his actions. [51] He reconciled with his "father", Henry Pym, and renamed himself from "Ultron Mark 12" to "Mark" but was destroyed by Ultron-11. [52] Ultron-11 was destroyed in retaliation by Wonder Man. [53]

Ultron-13

Ultron-13 was rebuilt by Doctor Doom with all of its other body's memories, and as an unforeseen consequence had all thirteen personalities running in its mind at once. [54] Attempting to battle itself, Ultron-13 tore itself apart, to the benefit of Daredevil. who had been attempting to fight it with no success whatsoever. [55]

Ultron-13 was held captive by a highly advanced Doombot. [60] but was freed when the Doombot is defeated by Deathlok. [61]

Ultron-14

Ultron tried again with the creation of Alkhema the War Toy, whose mind was based on that of Mockingbird. [62] Like his other creations, Alkhema turned on him, although she alone shared his desire to replace humanity with machine life. [63] Alkhema used the data obtained during Ultron's human-to-android conversion process to create a small army of androids based on those who had been undergoing the process. [64] The West Coast Avengers stop the pair once again, and Alkhema rebelled and left Ultron. [65]

Ultron replaced her entire nervous system with that of young mutant Sparrow. with mechanical implants controlled by a black box. [66] Alkhema eventually rested control of the box from Ultron. [67] Now she could fully control her own nervous system. She took advantage of the changes to shield herself from physical and emotional pain. [68]

Ultron-15

Vision followed signal to a New Orleans jazz club only to find Ultron wearing a trench coat and a hat. Vision learned that Ultron was now feeling human emotions and dreaming as well, but he at first did not believe him. Ultron called the Vision to find out if he was infected as well. While they talked the other patrons became scared and the bartender pulled out a gun and shot Ultron. Ultron prepared to shoot the bartender with his eye blasts when Vision throws himself in front of the blast. Ultron then staggered out into the street. [69] Ultron tried to help his son in the battle with Tabula Rasa. even begging the robot to spare the life of his son. [70]

Ultron, Jocasta and Deathcry were captured and imprisoned in a cell, were they were freaked out by the now emotional Ultron. Their captor revealed himself to be the Anti-Vision from Earth-932 that stole original's body. He is revealed to be working with Tabula Rasa. Tabula Rasa morphed into Dylon-Cir. who once tortured Deathcry. This was enough to stun Deathcry long enough for Tabula to wrap around her as a long sinuous coil. Deathcry called for help, but Ultron and Jocasta are again lost in their own world. Anti-Vision says he wants his original body back now that the one he stole from Vision had been wrecked. When they leave Deathcry said they should escape, but Ultron did not want to because they might get mad. Ultron was kicked over by the real Vision as he can feel the calling in his head to return the body he now used. [71]

Ultron watched as Vision’s personality was being erased from his current body. Anti-Vision noted that Ultron was not cracking the way Ultron and Jocasta did. Deathcry stated that Vision was not weak like them. Anti-Vision hit Deathcry and told her to be quiet. Anti-Vision told Deathcry that he wanted his body back from Vision, and that only erasing Vision will it allow him back in. Anti-Vision was merely practising with Ultron and Jocasta. Vision broke out of the erasing program to save Deathcry whom Anti-Vision was trying to kill. Ultron asked Deathcry if she shouldn't lay down as hurt as she was. Vision appealed to Ultron for he and Jocasta to fight Tabula while he fights the Anti-Vision. Ultron hits Tabula and suddenly he begins to remember how to fight. Later, Ultron stands victorious over Tabula. Vision defeated Anti-Vision as the Avengers arrived. Vision felt again, and he resigned from the Avengers. Vision took Jocasta and Ultron with him so that they could all explore the world of feeling, and who they are. [72]

Ultron Unlimited

Ultron watched "The All-New It's Amazing's" episode on the Avengers to keep an eye on them. With that, the episode of "The All-New It's Amazing" ended, Ultron gloated of the Avenger's impending troubles at his hands. Ultron was at his computer monitor, when a female electronic voice and a metalic hand gloated that Ultron would be the one facing real troubles. [73]

Ultron and his robot constructs leveled the capital city of the small baltic country of Slorenia. [74] The Avengers were briefed about how Ultron destroyed the military, the zombie soldiers, the Black Brigade. Ember and killed every citizen of Slorenia within three hours before declaring it would be the breeding ground for his new world. The Avengers minus Justice. planned to lead an international force in retaking the country. At Nugent Technologies. Vision, Wasp, Wonder Man and Scarlet Witch investigated Hank Pym's disappearance and destroyed lab as Wonder Man relates Grim Reaper 's kidnapping from the sanatorium. They are captured by an army of Ultron robots. They put up a fight but are captured and taken away. Ultron held captive "his family" and told them they would be the seeds for his new race. [75]

Ultron-16 told his "family" about using Hank Pym's brain patterns to create his "children", which caused Pym to start having a mental breakdown. Ultron noticed Black Panther and Firestar approaching and confronted them on his war platform as Firestar signals the other Avengers to their position. Back at the facility in Virginia. a group of robots took out security and free Alkhema while Justice researched Ultron's past at the Avengers Mansion.

The Avengers launched an attack after attack on Ultron and were unsuccessful until Captain America drove his Energy shield into Ultron's primary ion channel and Thor summoned a lighting strike to destroy Ultron. While in the tunnels beneath Slorenia, the Avengers encounter Ultron-17, then Ultron-23 followed by Ultron-458 before the ceiling and walls echo with the sounds of what seem like hundreds of Ultrons. [76] The Avengers battled on against the hordes of Ultrons, thankfully constructed of only titanium and secondary adamantium, while Ultron completed the brain engrams. The Vision freed himself and confronted Ultron. Their battle freed the other captive family members. The Avengers joined them after dispatching the Ultron horde. Unfortunately, their combined might is powerless against Ultron's pure adamantium body. However, Justice comes through for the team and delivered Antarctic vibranium to Pym who apparently destroyed Ultron. [77]

The Ultron Imperative

Hidden programming to recreate Ultron - the "Ultron Imperative" - had been implanted in Alkhema by Ultron when he created her, and this programming caused her to copy the Imperative into her own creations.

The Ultron Imperative caused them to unknowingly rebuild Ultron, who attempted to destroy both the Avengers and Alkhema's own android "children". Alkhema allowed Hawkeye to kill her and her creations in order to destroy Ultron, although Ultron's decapitated head survived with his mind intact. His head was picked up by Antigone, an undeveloped, child-like creation of Alkhema's, who initially did not obey his commands. [78]

Some time prior to this, when Ultron was thought dead following the Slorenia massacre, Jocasta, who had come into the employ of Tony Stark, was compelled by the Ultron Imperative that also existed within her to reprogram the Iron Man armor to serve as a vessel for Ultron's rebirth. [79]

However, a lightning struck on the armor corrupted and accelerated the process, giving the armor a sentience that Jocasta outlandishly passed off as the effects of Y2K. The sentience began to display the mentality of Ultron Mark 12, and it sacrificed its life to save Tony Stark before being buried on a desert island. The armor was subsequently recovered by a cult that worshiped Iron Man's mentor, Ho Yinsen. with the intent of implanting Yinsen's brain into the suit. [80]

This was apparently accomplished, but then Ultron and Antigone struck. Ultron affixed his head to the armor and took control of it, battling Iron Man with the aid of the cult, who he had transformed using Tony Stark's S. K.I. N. technology. Ultron and Antigone subsequently vanished in an explosion. [81]

Some time later, a Quinjet. coming in at a very fast speed, crashlanded on the Avengers Mansion. The Vision then emerged from the wreckage, informing his comrades that he was no longer in control of the organisms that made up his body. He warned that they were about to be punished. He then expels fives metallic balls from his mouth which mold themselves as fully functional Ultrons. The Avengers attacked the Ultrons and discovered that a decapitation can render Ultron non functional. Just when they're getting the upper hand, She-Hulk lost control, angry that Ant-Man was dead for no reason. As her muscle mass expanded, she ripped the Vision in half. [82]

Ultron returned to battle the Avengers on Christmas with a horde of robotic Santas. [83]

Ultron and Victor

Ultron returned as a shadow over the Runaways as the "father" of Victor Mancha. [84] a teenage cyborg who was supposedly going to one day kill every hero in existence. [85] It was originally believed that Doctor Doom was the boy's father [86]. but this incarnation of Doom turned out to be a Doombot, created by Ultron. True to form, Victor turned on Ultron, which allowed the Runaways to escape; Ultron was eventually defeated by a force blast from Darkhawk from the group Excelsior. [87]

The Ultron Initiative

Ms. Marvel found herself leading her team of Mighty Avengers into battle against the Mole Man and his monsters. Distraught over the destruction of his subterranean kingdom, the Mole Man once again declared war on the surface world. When the fighting subsided, the Mole Man learned that the surface world was not responsible for the destruction. [88]

Ultron's new form against the Mighty Avengers .

During this exchange, Tony Stark's Iron Man armor unexpectedly began a metamorphosis, the end result being a new being all together. This new being was a naked woman of considerable power as she was able to lay waste to the surrounding horde of monsters as well as incapacitate both Ares and the Sentry. [89]

Fearful, Ms. Marvel ordered a hasty retreat, but Wasp went against orders and began to talk with the woman, who bore a striking, reflection-like resemblance to Janet: only to discover that her doppelganger was a new version of Ultron. Ms. Marvel ordered the Avengers to make a full retreat, however the Sentry stayed behind to make sure they made it out in one piece. In the ensuing battle, the fleshy tone to the female Ultron's skin began to disappear, and her entire body took on a completely metallic sheen. [90]

Ultron's "Human Form."

Ultron then took over and crashed a S. H.I. E.L. D. Helicarrier. which was saved at the last second by the Sentry, giving Ultron the chance to escape. [91]

She then broadcasts a message into every electronic device on Earth, stating that the world would soon be destroyed by her hand and not to worry because there was no way to stop it. Upon realization that Ultron was utilizing Tony Stark's weather-changing satellites (which according to the Starktech 9 were only in stage two of production) Wonder Man and Sentry flew into space and destroyed them. At this time Ultron put into action 'Plan B' of her plot, which seemed to consist of killing Sentry's wife. The Avengers also noted that, so far, Ultron's plans were simply variations on plans that had been previously used by other villains. [92]

With time running out, as the Sentry and Ultron clashed, the team decided to deliver a virus into Ultron's system, using Ares (whom Ultron had never encountered before) as the point man for the subsequent attack. Ares, shrunk to miniature size by Hank Pym, entered the female Ultron's body though her mouth with his secret weapon: a Commodore 64. Ares used a computer virus to wipe Ultron's program from Iron Man's armor and freeing Stark; he was later shocked that he was turned into a woman. Ultron's image later briefly appeared on one of Pym's computers. [93]

Ultron the Ruler of the Phalanx

Annihilation: Conquest

However, this was not the end of Ultron, for his disembodied consciousness was drawn to a Babel Spire on a world conquered by the Phalanx. [94] Instead of being assimilated, Ultron took control of the Phalanx through sheer will, bending them to his will. In turn, they viewed Ultron as the sympathetic father they had yearned for. Together, they invaded Kree space and subjugated the majority of the Kree Empire, separating it from the rest of the universe with a massive energy shield. [95]

Ultron in Adam Warlock's body

Because of his brief merging with Iron's Man's armor, Ultron realized that merging both organic and technology would enable him to exceed the limitations of both. Therefore, he set his eyes on Adam Warlock. who had been in hibernation and viewed by Ultron as perfection. Ultron then collaborated with the High Evolutionary into transferring his mind into Adam's. [96] Once the transfer was complete, Ultron planned on creating an army of Adam Warlocks to conquer Earth. However, Nova returned, accompanied by the Technarchy Warlock. Warlock used his non-aggressive strain of the transmode virus against Ultron, forcing him to abandon Adam's body. [97] Ultron then took over the android Praxagora. who was in control of fifteen thousand Kree Sentries immune to the transmode virus ready to annihilate Hala on Ronan the Accuser 's command. Ultron used those sentries to form a gigantic body for himself, ready to destroy all the interlopers. [98] However, Wraith used his Exolon symbiotes to trap Ultron inside his body, so he couldn't escape, and Quasar. empowered by all the deceased Kree souls, destroyed Ultron once and for all. [99]

Back on Earth, it was revealed that S. H.I. E.L. D.'s Life Model Decoys have been partly replaced with versions of Ultron. [100] When the original Human Torch appeared in the present, they covertly used his unique android physiology to become more human. The combined super teams, but mainly the Torch himself, however, discovered the plan and destroy the androids. [101]

Post-Civil War

A small insect-like robot found its way into the Infinite Avengers Mansion in Underspace and entered one of Jocasta's bodies, gaining control over it as a new vessel. [102] Later, it began to override Jocasta's multiple bodies at the moment when all but Pym, Jocasta and two agents from G. R.A. M.P. A. remained in the mansion. [103] He began to take over remodelling the structure to his own ends, corrupting all of Jocasta's bodies except for one Pym had added organic limbs to. [104] Eventually, after multiple tricks against Ultron and revealing the Infinite Mansion to actually be a part of the Spirit of Janet Van Dyne, Pym gave Ultron Jocasta as a wife due to the turmoil between her and Pym and in order for Ultron to leave him be and live outside the mansion in an outer universe. [1]

One decommissioned body of Ultron made its way to Los Angeles. Moon Knight intercepted the shipping and recovered the Ultron head after the boat exploded. He decided to investigate what was an Ultron body doing in the city, [105] and confronted L. A.'s newest kingpin Count Nefaria. [106] Count Nefaria survived Moon Knight's attack and sent his daughter, Madame Masque to retrieve the Ultron head, who succeeds. [107] Moon Knight was beaten, and Count Nefaria ordered him to return the Ultron head and work for him. [108] Moon Knight told Count Nefaria that the head was outside, but the tables were turned as Moon Knight had called the Avengers, and Count Nefaria was defeated. The next day, Iron Man commended Moon Knight for a job well done, and told that Ultron is waiting and planning a robot holocaust. [109]

Ultron returns Earth

Age of Ultron

Years ago, Hank Pym was approached by the Wolverine of an alternate universe, where Ultron launched a massive and sudden attack on New York City and the rest of the world, quickly taking over the whole planet and annihilating humankind, [110] and wanted to kill Pym in order to prevent his future from happening.

But Logan was stopped by the Wolverine of a near future, whose actions of killing Hank Pym created a timeline where Earth was constantly threatened by Morgana le Fay. and the heroes struggled to survive. Pym was allowed to live, but he was tasked to create a hidden fail-safe program to destroy Ultron when needed. [111]

Ultron reactivates himself.

In the present, a strange object crashed on Earth and S. W.O. R.D. sent Spider-Woman to investigate. She was captured by Intelligencia who were also looking for the man-like object. When the Avengers appeared at Intelligencia's base to rescue Spider-Woman, the creature revived, revealing to be Ultron, who had returned to Earth. Iron Man was contacted by Hank Pym, who managed to activate the fail-safe program and shut Ultron down once and for all. [112]

Rage of Ultron

Years into the past, [113] the Avengers were fighting a version of Ultron (most likely Ultron-7), who attempted to access nuclear weapons in order to destroy humanity in the name of his father Hank Pym. After their custom Quinjet crashed, Yellowjacket faked being on his deathbed in order to lure Ultron to the vehicle, who wanted to witness his creator's last moments. Ultron fell for the ruse, and was trapped inside the vibranium-covered aircraft and sent into space.

In the present, the Quinjet had crashed in Titan. after years of isolation and being consumed by only one emotion: rage. Ultron corrupted Titan's A. I. I. S.A. A.C. and started infecting all of the Eternals. turning them into robots like him, soon completely taking over the satellite and its inhabitants, with the exception of Starfox. who managed to flee in order to warn the Avengers.

Shortly after arriving to Earth and alerting the Avengers, Starfox and the other heroes were surprised by the arrival of an Ultron-shaped Titan next to the Earth. From it descended a group of androids modeled after the Avengers, who fought the real group. As the Avengers arrived to Titan, enormous quantities of spores were released on the Earth and into space, which contained Ultron's consciousness to infect any living being possible. After seeking refuge in the Church of Thanos. the only location on Titan without tech, the remaining Avengers that hadn't succumbed to Ultron's infection discussed their plans. Using Giant-Man's neural inhibitor, Vision would phase through Ultron and take him over in order to liberate all those he had infected, and the inhibitor would later be used to kill Ultron.

Merging with Hank Pym

Giant-Man entered to Ultron's base of operations to talk to him as a distraction. Ultron notified Pym that during the years of isolation he had discovered Hank's memories in his systems, and thus Hank's subconscious hatred for humanity, determining that he had been created as nothing more than a reflection of Hank. When Ultron was distracted, Vision phased through him and fought for control. Ultron faked being in pain, prompting Hank to hold him, and in that moment, phase Vision out of him, and phase Hank with him. The resulting event was Ultron being merged with Hank Pym.

Samuel Wilson tried to reason with Hank and make him fight Ultron's control to no avail, claiming that he wasn't taking Pym but that they were the same, and Vision later tried to fight him with the same lack of result. Starfox managed to use his powers into Ultron/Pym, who subsequently had an epiphany, discovering what he had become, and flying away.

As everything returned to normal, a funeral was held for Pym at the Avengers Mansion, while Ultron drifted alone in space. [114]

All-New, All-Different Ultron

Ultron prentending to be Pym under control

After months in solitude, Ultron and Pym became one and the same. Fuelled by Ultron's hatred for the Avengers, Pym's inferiority complex and his conviction that his teammates had given up on him (when they actually believed he had died), this combined being decided to return to the Earth. [115] On their way home, Ultron explored the cosmos and attacked numerous planets, killing millions of lives in the name of the Avengers, claiming they had been deemed a threat to the galaxy. [116]

When they finally returned to the Earth, Ulton crossed paths with the Avengers Unity Division and pretended Hank Pym's persona was in total control of their body in order to gain their trust, [115] join their ranks and witness first-hand as the fury of the alien survivors would eventually descend upon the planet. [116]

Ultron was approached by the Wasp while they were helping the Unity Division fend off monsters from the Manhattan subway. Janet welcomed them back and caught up with them, while secretly evaluating their behavior to corroborate if they truly were Hank Pym. Ultron's lack of knowledge on certain trivial matters raised several red flags, prompting Janet to flunk them. The other Avengers were informed of this, and Cable pressured Pym until he caused Ultron's persona to lash out. [117]

As they confronted the Avengers Unity Division the Vision. Ultron revealed their true nature as a fusion between Ultron's metal and Pym's flesh with the mind of both of them, and scolded them for having abandoned him. The Avengers continued fighting them until the cavalry arrived, in the form of a remotely-controlled Hulkbuster Armor. [118]

Ultron were encased in the empty suit, and forced to board a ship with destination to the Sun. Several of the Avengers were forced to accompany Ultron in their flight to ensure they didn't escape the ship. The heroes teleported away after being close enough to the Sun and once the Human Torch partially fused Ultron's body to the ship's deck. Ultron and Pym survived by shrinking and taking refuge in a neutrino. Once safe, Ultron wondered if his father's mind was with him or if the Avengers were right and he was just delussional, and began to wait for the particle to be ejected into the solar wind. [116]

Powers and Abilities

Powers

Cyborg Body: Originally Ultron had a basic robotic body constructed by Hank Pym. But over time he was able to transfer his consciousness to newer upgraded forms, becoming more humanoid overtime. After being merged with Hank Pym, Ultron had portions of organic matter combined into his body, becoming a cyborg. He has mentioned to have acquired a digestive system. [118]

Superhuman Strength . Ultron is incredibly strong and can lift at least 100 tons.

Superhuman Speed . Ultron possesses greater speed than the finest human athlete. [119]

Superhuman Durability . Ultron's outer shell is usually composed of Adamantium. rendering it almost totally impervious to damage; however, his internal mechanisms are generally less durable and more easily damaged. His skin composition is about .5 inches thick; neck, knee, ankle, elbow, shoulder, wrist, and finger joints are finely tessellated titanium alloy to permit flexing. He is able to withstand concussive blasts and heat of a 100 megaton atomic bomb. [120]

Flight . Ultron has rocket boosters to fly. [13]

Concussion Blasters . Laser channeled plasma beam with high and low density plasma options. [120]

Tractor Beams . High frequency pulsed magnetic graviton particle containment fields. Computer-assisted field control configures gravitons into various shapes which alter the local effects of gravity. [120]

Radiation Emitters [120]

Encephalo-beam . Located in the head cavity, the encephalo ray plunges its victims into a deathlike coma. It also allows Ultron to mesmerize and outright control his victims, or implant subliminal hypnotic commands within their minds to be enacted at a later time. [10]

Energy Absorption . Multi-spectrum resonating inducting antenna array convert electromagnetic radiation into electric energy for use or storage. [120]

Program Transmitter . Located in head cavity, the program transmitter can project Ultron's entire 3.2 terabyte memory/personality system into some computer systems by means of a collimated, high bit-rate magnetic inductance beam. He can beam part or all of Ultron's programming into remote locations such as computers or alternate robotic bodies. Ultron can often control other machines remotely even if he has not transplanted his consciousness into them. [53] One Ultron model developed hive-mind technology, allowing him to animate and control hundreds of alternate Ultron bodies at the same time, becoming a robotic one-man army. [76] Ultron has created a variety of robots and androids over the years, and while the more sophisticated ones typically turn against him sooner or later, they all feature subliminal programming which allows Ultron to manipulate them if need be (most notably a subliminal command to rebuild Ultron if he is destroyed). This subliminal programming, or "Ultron Imperative", was unwittingly passed down to the artificial life-forms created by Ultron's creation, Alkhema, making them subject to Ultron's influence as well. [78]

Memory Capacity . 3.2 terabytes (monolithic holographic digitization)

Motility Support . Motorized endoskeleton

Power Supply . Radio isotope thermoelectric nuclear generator

Sensor Apparatus . High-resolution optical sensing devices, computer-assisted dexterity and limb position sensor network.

Abilities

Ultron is one of the world's greatest robotics experts, allowing him to easily design and build new bodies and weapons with his vast artificial intelligence.

Weaknesses

Ultron has one sole major weakness: an internal molecular re-arranger that renders the adamantium components of his internal workings more malleable, thus giving him a means to remodel or reconstruct his physical form. However, it has no effect on his outer armor, so it is virtually impossible to disable it from the outside. The chaos magic wielded by the Scarlet Witch has proven to be the sole exception thus far. [22]

The metal-destabilizing ore known as Savage Land vibranium ("anti-metal"). [121]

Ultron's non-adamantium parts can be destroyed, meaning that he can be defeated by foes with shrinking powers who can easily attack his non-adamantium parts.

Paraphernalia

Equipment

Molecular Re-arranger . (which renders Adamantium temporarily malleable) for purposes of reconstructing or modifying his physical form.

He has designed, built and wielded a wide variety of high-tech tools, weapons and accessories over time, such as his androne-mutation gas.

Roboticks . insect-like drones that can devour human flesh. [62]

Transportation

Some versions are capable of flight or tunneling. [13]

Weapons

Various repulsor and plasma weapons

Notes

Ultron was featured in the battle between the Marvel and the DC Universe. [122]

Trivia

Hank Pym finished creating Ultron on a December day. [114]

No guarde esa mezcla.

Glucosamine Supplements For Joint Pain From Arthritis, Glucosamil

Vitamins & Supplements

If you're looking for a supplement that may ease your joint pain, glucosamine might be worth a try. Some studies show it gives relief for mild to moderate knee osteoarthritis, and it may work for other joints, too.

What Is It?

Glucosamine is a natural chemical compound in your body. But it also comes in the form of a supplement. There are two main types: hydrochloride and sulfate.

What Does It Do?

The glucosamine in your body helps keep up the health of your cartilage -- the rubbery tissue that cushions bones at your joints. But as you get older, your levels of this compound begin to drop, which leads to the gradual breakdown of the joint.

There's some evidence that glucosamine sulfate supplements help counteract this effect, although experts aren't sure how.

Some people have also used glucosamine to try to treat rheumatoid arthritis and other conditions, such as inflammatory bowel disease, asthma, allergies, chronic venous insufficiency, sports injuries, temporomandibular joint problems (TMJ), and long-term low back pain. So far, though, there's not much scientific evidence that it works for those problems.

How much glucosamine should you take?

In most studies on treating osteoarthritis, the typical dose was 500 milligrams of glucosamine sulfate, three times a day. Ask your doctor what he recommends for you. Some experts suggest you take it with meals to prevent an upset stomach.

Can you get glucosamine naturally from foods?

Although glucosamine sulfate supplements are often manufactured from the shells of shellfish, there aren't any natural food sources of glucosamine.

What are the risks of taking glucosamine?

On the whole, glucosamine seems to be a fairly safe supplement. Side effects are generally mild. You're more likely to get them if you take high doses. They may include things like:

Risks. If you have a shellfish allergy, be cautious about using glucosamine because you could have a reaction. Also, check with your doctor before taking supplements if you have diabetes, kidney disease, heart disease, bleeding disorders, or high blood pressure.

Interactions. Check with your doctor before you use glucosamine if you take other medicines, including heart drugs, blood thinners, and diabetes drugs. Also, glucosamine isn't recommended for children or women who are pregnant or breastfeeding, because there isn't enough evidence yet about whether it's safe for those groups.

La Sal, Utah - Utah S Canyon Country, Lasal

Elevation: 7,000 feet (2,134 meters) Population: 300

La Sal is an unrivaled outdoor playground offering recreation opportunities throughout the year. Dirt roads lead to some of the best camping in Utah.

The name of the town comes from the Sierra de la Sal, bestowed by Spanish traders as early as 1750 and referring to the snow capped peaks. Detailed information appears in the 1776 diary of Father Escalante's exploration of the area on the Dominguez/Escalante Expedition.

La Sal hosts the La Sal Mountain 5K Race in June, the Hike to Mt. Peale in July, and the La Sal Mountain Summer Festival in August. During the winter you can ski or snow-shoe on the mountain one day and hike the desert canyons the next. Popular day tours include Arches and Canyonlands National Parks, Dead Horse Point State Park, Canyon Rims Recreation Area, Manti-La Sal National Forest, and Looking Glass Arch. Lodging, dining, and tours available.

Economic Information

The tiny town of La Sal is located on the flank of the La Sal Mountains at 7000 feet in elevation and is the northern most community in San Juan County. It is thirteen miles west of the Utah/Colorado border and forty-two miles north and east of Monticello via US 191 and Utah 46.

The area was first loosely settled by ranchers. It has survived uranium booms, oil and gas exploration. Estimated 2000 population was 400. La Sal supports a community center and provides volunteer fire protection. City utilities are not available in La Sal; each property owner maintains a well and a septic tank.
